Again one more package with angle pieces for making the glaspanel frame. The plan is to install actuators at both sides of the desk. (stil working on the plan wich actuators and how to mount them). But working on the glaspanelframe is going tru. In this picture i already saw the front and both off the side pieces in a angle. Because i dont weld parts i have to use other things to bind the parts together. The solution is making mounting and support plates. I made a few 3mm thick plates for in the corners of the frame. Now i need to drill the holes for the countersink screws. This is no job just for the eye so i make a drill mall again. Downstairs i clime behind my screen and make the drawing. Offset 6 mm ye right. This must be it. Now it is time to print out the drawing. Scale 1:1 malls finished and back upstairs again. Time for som drill work. Plate placed in the corner. Now i can drill small center holes in the profiles under it. No helping hand nearby so i use a few just arived packages. Yes this wil work. Holes for the scews made. Now just countersink the bottom. After putting M4 tread in i can mount the plates in the corners.
Well in the right order i have to finish: 1. my deskbuild first "then i can work at my desk"; 2. Black Dragon 80 % finished "but in stealth mode" because my deskbuild have prior; 3. Resurection of Hill 7.9 is in storag until i have the time to but the parts back in. So in general i can say "I NEED MORE TIME IN ONE DAY"
Stil no fancy pictures but just the smal updates. Yesterday i was thinking about having my buildlogs updated once a week instead of avery day. "What dyou all think of that". Mean while i am going further with my build. Avery progress i make is a small victory by the thought the desk is going to the powdercoater. I changed the picture size to 800 x 530 "looking better dont you think". Working on the frame for the glaspanelframe. Hinges already orderd. Hope finish this part this weekend.
Lovely work. I wish I had the space for a workshop. It is a tad difficult trying to make, paint ETC ETC in the living room with the missus giving you dirty looks. Oh for a garden shed.
Thank you, yes i know all about doing a smelly paintjob. ha ha i got band to the back for my paintspray jobs. Upstairs for the blocks i am using paint on a waterbase "for the MDF". But i have also paint on a waterbase.
For those who love to read specs i did som testing. Testing my new Thermaltake fans the: Riing 12 High Static Pressure Radiator Fan. Curious how the look and how much i can control them with my Aquero 6 Pro Because i want to share the spec i made a document\picture for sharing it. With the fan you get: - one cable with molex connector; - one low noise cable "dropping your rpm down from ± 1632 - 1100" - a set of mounting screws. Turning the power back to 4,8 volt. And still nice result. O yes i like them.
Because the total picture is a bit small i will post a few bigger pictures. What is in the box Running without the "low noise cable" Running with the "low noise cable" Test results ( 1 x fan, 1 x Aquero 6 Pro)
Thank for the compliment. Until now i dont have much trouble building it. I take my time to make it as good as i can. Because it is my first desk it take me longer then normal i think. Cant wait until i get home today and work on the desk again.
More parts arived "and more parts are need to orderd". Bussy bussy it feels like work. The aspected packages from my biggest sponsor Thermaltake arived today. 21 kg of radiators and fans. Yes 21 kg. So what do we planning to put in the magic desk. I will try to explain where all the parts go. Under the desk wil be mounted 2 pedestels with: - 4 x Pacific RL 560 radiators and; - 32 x Riing 14 Bleu led fans 140 mm in push pull config. In the desk wil be mounted: - 2 x Pacific RL 560 radiators with; - 8 x Riing 14 Bleu led fans 140 mm in pull config; - 6 x Riing 12 Bleu led fans 120 mm push and pull. - 2 x Thoughpower Grand 1200 Psu's Back of the desk. Parts from the sponsor. What i like special is the tool that com with the radiators "easy connecting". I wish that all brand had this. It make it easier to mount certan parts. 2 sets of front and mounting plates for my power adjusters in the pedestels. Because the glaspanel is about 40 kg i want the frame be solid and for that i orderd 2 small hinges. During my conversation with Marcus i realise that i might need two more. So i send a quick e-mail to the shop. "ye no problem whe will fix this". So the hinges arived today also. The short part is goint to be mounted against the back of the frame. The height of the frame is 20mm \ minus 3 "thickness of angle piece = 17 " so it is posible that i need to file the curve on the small part of the hinge flat. Have to go upstairs and see. Ill go back upstairs to do som building
It is my bigest system i ever build. it is not only for show but also for work on. size 2000 x 900 x 255 and 2 pedestels and block under it. Yes it is going to be a dual system Gaming "left " and server "right" One loop for each system with 2 x D5 pomps. Asus Rampage IV Black edition\ i7 - 4930K \ 2 x Titans 6GB \ for gaming Asus Impact VII\ i7 4770K \ for server.
Showing the result of the testing above show that the Aquero can manage them to a verry low voltage. Great fans.
Well I congratulate you cause those system are no joke Only thing with desks is they can be a little trickier to drain rather than normal Pc chassis.
Yes that is tru. I am going to use quick disconnects for the pedestels. And i have a few big openings under the pedestel where i can mount a valve like i did with the hill 7.9 build. drainage in build Hill 7.9
Had not much time today to work on the desk. But i need to build so i manage to make the raw version of the corner mounting piece for the right side of the glaspanel frame. Ha ha i know it is a ling text line. I already saw 4 angle pieces earlier this week. After taking measurements for the drill holes it is time to drill som holes. After the drill job i need to take ofer the holes in the frame. There for i mounted a few clamps to hold the angle piece in place. Holes made and time to put the 5mm tread in. More work countersinking with a hand tool and sanding by hand. Test fitting of the screws. I still need to make the edges rounder. More work And more test fitting. I hope to do the other pieces faster then this one. But i know a prototype cost always more time. Ill be back
Looking good, thats a lot of fans :O tricky working out where to stick the actuators, I went with one to start with if I ever do a rebuild I would redesign for x2 as it would look better
