If you can afford to buy it and insure how is it a dream?

You would just buy one. :duh:

An early 90s NSX is up there for me as well. The noise with the right exhaust installed is just eargasmic.

A fully restored Datsun 260/280Z possibly dropping a newer V Block engine in updating the electrics. Still a sensible car ;)

Sensible dream car? Give me a Porsche 944, then, late model, so it's got all the nice extras, and preferably without 150K+ On the clock. I'd happily smash that around on track days and otherwise cruise about in it.

This is assuming that it's got enough leg-room for me to fold my 6'5" frame into it. The ones I've seen appear to be large enough, but noone's dared let me sit in one as of yet.

Oh wow, that looks really great. Pity about the riveting in the overfenders.

EDIT: If it had these sort of arches it really would be amazing:

I would take the screaming rocketship, aka BMW E61.

I hope to one day be able to step into Lamborghini Gallardo spyder. I am surprised at how many people want a live rear axle in their dream car.

    Yeah yeah. :p:D

I just could not settle for 1 car! I would have to have the Ferrari F40 and the Jag XJ220.

Can I afford them? Not unless I win the euro millions...

Mean while in the real world of what I can afford, I will buy the Bigger brother to my A5 - The S5 4.2 V8 - unless the RS5 suddenly drops in price in the next couple of years... :)

Wasn't this a "sensible" dream car thread though? How does a F40 fit into that? :) Good call on the S5 BTW.
