Predictions Time! For 2017 At least two races with 0 on track overtakes after the first corner, in the style of 2002-2008. Even more rapidly falling viewer numbers. Daniel Ricciardo: World Champion Max Verstappen: Fired when he causes several monster crashes and gets a multi race ban. 2017 cars the fastest ever seen in Formula 1. Merc to take constructors. Williams to be in serious trouble by season end.
Crystal ball polished, lets crack on with predictions - Hamilton announces he's leaving Merc. The 2017 rules have precisely 0 impact, and if anything compound the existing problems. Ferrari are still a passionate, Italian, flamboyant, steaming mess. [Bonus points if Arrivabenne gets the sack]. Alonso makes it clear early on where Vandoorne's place is - behind Alonso. Championship is Merc whitewash again, toss a coin between RBR and Ferrari for best of the rest. A team goes under. Probably Sauber.
Interesting first prediction RedFlames. Hamilton skipping the Perelli test and the supposed fallout over his tactics, I did see one rumour that his contract could be terminated. The headline tho was that he could return to McLaren as what's his name Dennis replacement has "opened the door" to his return.
http://www.planetf1.com/news/exxon-switch-from-mclaren-to-red-bull/ McHonda lose yet another sponsor.
Merc's/Rosberg's Statement TL-DR - He's going out on the high of winning a championship and getting one over on his life-long rival in order to spend more time with wife and sprog. So, what's everyone reckoning? Wehrlein in Rosberg's seat? He's without a 2017 drive and he is a Merc young/test driver [and wasn't too shabby in the Manor].
You're a little late Yoda... true... still not 100% convinced he won't leave as well... As for who'll replace Rosberg... Everyone else is tied down with contracts so realistically their only options are - Wehrlein, Gutierrez or at a push Button [who is both 'retired' and still under contract to McHonda].
