Windows 7 Beta Anyone lucky enough to get a key and .iso download? I was able to manage to get a key and I'm at 92% right now. I'm loading this bad boy tonight on a spare HDD. I got the key through a link provided by a user on the technet forum, however that link does not work anymore. But I'm sure most of anyone trying will be able to get a key soon. Once Microsoft gets the system up and running again. I'll post screen shots once I get started.
I ended up getting the torrent (both x86 and 64 bit versions.) Thousands of seeders made it relatively quick, and the official MS site still shows unavailable. (will get that one once it become available) I'm a little leery of installing a torrented version, but I'll do it on a standalone machine just to be sure... @icutebluezone, I don't know what they're thinking of for pricing structures, but I'll bet it'll be very similar to Vista, with different levels like Ultimate and Basic versions, and the higher featured sets probably will be like $500. (definitely NOT free! ) 64bit version installed painlessly on the hardware I'm planning on using for my Lexa mod, and I'm playing with it... I'm still on XP, and haven't really experienced Vista, so I can't really compare it Vista yet.
As you said, you can get the ISO no problem from Microsoft. you can find many direct link to Microsoft servers. What is down is the server that manages the requests and gives people product keys. I have no key, and only 30% of Windows 7... do you think installation will work
Oh yeah, you get 30 days trial, just like with Vista. So you can install it and as long as you get a key within 30 days, you're set. I'm on Windows 7 right now, I really like Vista, but this is just so much, well it makes me smile. The little flaws in Vista are not here, how the gadgets work is how they should have worked in Vista. Like being able to "dock" it on any edge, no black gradient effect, and being able to view the bigger version of a gadget and still have it docked. It's slick. The task bar is different, but it works very well. Libraries seems like a great idea, only downside is I installed this on a different physical drive, since I didn't want to run it in a virtual machine (just isn't the same), and I didn't want to fuss with partitions and such on my new 250GB drive. So I threw my old 120GB in my laptop and put it on that. So I don't have a lot of media to make use of libraries. That will soon change.

Is anyone else with Windows 7 having problems downloading DirectX 10? Everytime I go to the DirectX site and try to download it I get a link to this; which if I'm reading correctly is DirectX 9.0c.
Thanks FuzzyOne, +rep for you for that. It appears to be the same file(s) as what I got off the torrent, will check once it's fully downloaded.
Ohh, Microsoft servers are back! (and fast) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/dd353205.aspx
Make sure you're signed into Technet using a Windows Live login. Then click on either of the two links: 32-bit 64-bit You should then get a key (32-bit works for 64-bit btw) and links to download your iso using the MS Download Manager and a 'How To' page.
Grabbing it now, anyone know if it will upgrade from xp x64 or am I going to have to do a clean install?
cool, so ive got a key from that, will i be able to use the disk from torrents but with the code they give me there? would save me downloading it again XD
