I've got to break the mould here

Its a hybrid between a American muscle and light weight English sports car design.

V8 dropped into an AC Ace, i give you the Cobra!

I actually love the daytona version more

Way to bring up an old thread

Anyways, I've always love the looks of the 1969 Camaro and the 1971 Chevelle

From the list I'll take the shelby. In reality I'll just settle for my dads 1950's Studebaker Champion when he either a) gives me the keys or b) shuffles off this mortal coil. I'll also take his enfield and sunbeam motorbikes too.

The daytona is probably one of the best looking classic cars I have ever seen, that and the Ferrari 250 GTO of course. +rep to you sire.

The Shelby, that old GT500 is a beastly sounding car, even if the firebird is awesome, although I might have a tough time between the GT500 and the GTO.

    69Camaro is good too.

    NO love for the Cuda?

It depeds on what the cars condition is - if it's a stock '68 Firebird, I'd take an Eleanor reproduced '67 mustang over it easily. If the Firebird was lovingly restored and given a bit of modern flair - engine included - I'd take it over a stock '67 Mustang. Basically, I'm torn between the two. They've both been featured on episodes of Overhaulin I've seen recently and as always, Foose did an amazing job on them. His designs can sometimes be a little too much for me on newer cars but he seems to get it just right with the old classics. The Firebird they built was gorgeous and from what I remember, the boys at YearOne did a number on the engine and made it a real monster.

For those who are still confused.....(I don't mean you Unicorn.. the fact that my post is after yours is irrelevant)

Stop calling the 67 GT500 "Eleanor"!!!

That hideous plastic coated travesty was created for the equally hideous remake of Gone in 60 Seconds. No such car was originally ever made. Thanks to that lame film, countless valuable, and increasingly rare 67 and 68 fastbacks are being ruined by making them into "Eleanor" clones.

The 67/68 GT500 looks like this.

Thanks to that film there's a generation of kids who actually think a Shelby GT500 looks like this chavved up piece of crap.

If you wanna be correct, Eleanor looks like this..

As that's the "eleanor" from the original movie... a 1973 Mach 1.

    Chip Foose is a knob.

    So.. stop it! :p

Also, to the OP, the car in American Beauty was a 1970 Firebird, not a 70.

when i first watched the re-make of gone in 60 seconds, the hero car Eleanor did look cool to begin with, something different.

However you are right, there are a lot of mustangs getting F**ked up by people cloning that car.

The original gone in 60 seconds, was and is the most mental film i have ever seen to do with cars! lol!

Personally if it were a mustang that i had to have,

well said brother! I have my own fond memories of the GT500, first time i saw one was back in 93 after reading Gunsmith Cats. Sonodas ability to draw all things technical is incredible.

Hey I say if some one wants to take one and do that to it then let them... Thats like some one crying because your case mod is ruining an already awesome case... Please don't go back on the modding code by saying you cant improve perfection, if some one likes the look of the GT 500 in gone in 60 seconds (Which wasn't created by chip foose - chip just did a replica style one for a guy on Overhaulin who LOVED the one in the film) then let them do it!

My choice list of cars is the Shelby AC 427, very close second being the '67 GT500
