Hi, I asked about a month ago what sort of system I should be looking to build for £600. I had some great responses which helped me decide to go for an i5 Sandybridge build. I've now got to the point where I can start ordering the parts and before I do can you guys have a quick once over the below set-up to see if I can improve it anywhere? Anything I could/should change? Thanks
What about an after market cpu cooler? I assume you're going to be over clocking due to the unlocked cpu. For example http://www.scan.co.uk/products/cool...iet-fan-lga775-1155-1156-1366-am2-am2plus-am3 which keeps you in your budget.
I wouldn't prod that with a 44 foot pole when under load. Spend some more to get a better PSU something like this. It might be less wattage, but its a name you can trust, and has a high efficiency rating. Surely others mentioned it in your last new build thread?
+1 for that, dodgy power supply is a no no, also I thoroughly recommend that corsair unit, its very quiet, with decent efficency as Instagib said, I've also just used one in a upgrade for my dad I've just finished, and he's very happy, much quieter than the cheap crap box that was in there before.
never heard of that psu, and like instagib said, wouldn't touch it...grab the corsair he mentioned, any corsair, or xfx, seasonic, some antecs...check the sticky about psu's at the top of this forum... other than that I would look at how much of a difference there is price-wise between a stock gtx 560 and that 460. paying for a pre-oc'ed version of a card is like wiping ur rear with a $20 bill...
I have just bought the same cpu and ram, with an asus motherboard. I would definetely recommend an aftermarket cooler as Kaaa suggested, personally I am waiting to get the Bequiet dark rock advanced (http://www.scan.co.uk/products/be-q...lga775-1155-1156-1366-am2-am2plus-am3-754-940) as it wasnt in stock when i was buying.
Get this PSU instead of the one you are considering. It's a bad brand, don't cut corners on the PSU: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/530w...-sli-crossfire-120mm-fan-dual-rail-atx12v-v23 Takes your £20 but it's worth it!
or this Cooler http://www.scan.co.uk/products/ther...m-fan-socket-775-1156-1366-am2-am3-cpu-cooler i've been using it and its very good and highly rated by Custom Pc
