New RAM ready for LGA2011... but using 3 sticks already in my rig to boost me from 6 to 12GB. XMP recommends 9-9-9-24 at 2T... conservative as usual. Running those times with 1T and no problems here.

    Also....

Cheap 430 to run my secondary screen, as running two screens off one card prevents my 580 from clocking down in 2D, and my god does this room get hot!

    As above (not my channel)

That, and I'm putting a safer cycling video together for the uni students... whether they'll actually listen to my advice or not is a different matter, but hopefully it'll stop them cycling up the wrong side of the road (Yes, this actually happens)

Ah. I thought as much. I doubt anything will actually happen to those people that were filmed though in that utube vid.

Bought myself another 680B monopod as I lost/forgot on underground my first one. Buggering hell eh. Another £50 gone. Meh.

At the risk of sounding like an anti-cyclist, that guy is an idiot. A number of those were not actually even that close, and didn't even warrant a reaction, especially not one as immature as his. I don't know if it is purely the camera angle, but he doesn't seem to make use of cycle lanes, or move over very far. He appears to enjoy the conflict and doesn't make any attempt to avoid it. Almost every one of those I could see what was going to happen, regardless of whether it was my fault or not, I would take steps to avoid an accident, not launch into an argument.

When I ride my bike, if there is no cycle lane I will ride as close as is safely possible to the curb so I don't cause an unnecessary obstruction, if there is a cycle lane I am in it. When I drive, I give as much space as possible to cyclists.

I know it wasn't your video and you probably grabbed the first (or worst) video to answer the question, so I am not having a go at you. But I get really annoyed with this whole cyclist vs driver thing, my job having moved to Cambridge recently, I hear about it a lot more. The vast majority of people seem to get on fine. Those that constantly complain of bad cyclists, are quite clearly bad drivers, and the opposite is true.

But as for latest purchases. Nada, moving out is killing my wallet :(

Went on a bit of a manga splurge:
    -K-On! volume 3
-Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei volumes 10 and 11
    -Toradora volume 3
    -Omamori Himari volume 4

Probably should have waited for my Amazon credit card application to go through. $40 gift card on approval. Oh well, guess that means $40 "free" dollars to spend later!

Couldn't put it better myself, and it really applies to pedestrian traffic as well. You get people jay walking, then complaining when a car doesn't slow down for them. Or the opposite with drivers complaining about people "jumping out into traffic" at designated crosswalks. Even interactions between cyclists and pedestrians can see such complaints. Really the main problem as that neither party knows how the other is going to behave and so assumes that they will behave the same as themselves.

That said, I did have a little laugh at the first clip in the video. Cycling in a marked bus lane approaching a marked bus stop... not exactly surprising when a bus enters the lane!

Now I agree with some of those.

But people pulling out into turned that you're heading into is part of being a road user. He's a little bit rage filled that dude. The cabbie was a nob.

(Btw I'm a cyclist, and I do like the idea of using a headcam)
