So yea... Just pulled the trigger on 3x EVGA GTX 670 Superclock 4GB. I'll be away for a graduation and a wedding till next Monday though... if there aren't any reviews or benchmarks up by then I'll be available. No BF3 though, just Skyrim (with mods) and any benching software you'd like to throw at me. I'll have one machine with SLI and one with a single card too, so I can provide a comparison.
Uniheaven, Original Crysis, Metro 2033, BF3 if you happen to have a spare copy anywhere. Oh, and Furmark.
I highly recommend the Asus GTX 670 TOP, its the best GTX 670 on the market imo, reviews say the same. The card runs extremely quiet, even with the fan speed on 100% it isn't Loud.
Oooo exciting. I have a 670 phantom on the way, loved my 570 phantom. Shame that I have to wait till the weeend for it
hmm. I disagree. I have the TOP, yet people with non 'top' versions, or people with the gigabyte models for example, can clock and thus bench much higher than I can It's all down to the card. I let the TOP fool me into thinking it would be better than everyone else's when In fact I can't clock higher than about 1290, when there are some gigabytes reaching 1320
The top versions guarantee you'll get the stated factory overclock (or base clock), that's all. You'll have got one that doesn't go up quite as high as others, but there will be no measurable performance difference in real gaming use between boosts of 1290 and 1320MHz. Though you could have just returned it under the DSR if you were unhappy with it.
Got my GTX 670 delivered today While I can hear the noise profile is a bit funny if the fan is at 100%, which lets face it, it won't ever be running at that speed, my Gentle Typhoon 1850's are louder than the graphics card is anyway. Nice to be able to run BF3 at my res on ultra I've set the clocks on mine the same as Hard OCP's review, which is, through EVGA precision X; 122% power targer +150mhz GPU clock +200mhz Mem clock or 1234mhz GPU clock 6.4ghz memory clock, not sure if that's correct but that's what they said in their review.
As this has kind of turned into the unofficial 670 thread, has anyone heard or seen/heard rumours of any 670s that use a shorter length cooler more relative to the PCB?
So much for my overclock. My 670 crashes straight away in BF3 to desktop with the game running in the background with even the mildest overclock. Oh well.
Gave up on waiting for Asus stock and Newegg and got myself an EVGA F T W version. Getting free 2nd day shipping from Newegg for the trouble. If they screw up again and send me another 680... I'M KEEPING IT!
Still getting feverish over a few MHz guys! Quit it already. The GTX 670 is a killer super HD card and it's manging to slaughter all my games at high/ultra settings with a res of 2560 by 1440. Stop crying!
so what you are saying is that once again we have cards that can out perform games?! DICE, get cracking please. Frostbite 2.0 is now obsolete once again
It is true though! I returned my card, I realized it was WAY overkill for my needs. I play maybe two hours a week tops, so it was just idling most of the time. A task a gtx 560ti is more than capable of. But it is a cracking card the Asus DCUII
Just heard from a nice chap over at EK regarding the water block - 'The EK-FC670 water block prototype will be milled and tested within a week. After it's validation we can start immediately with serial production.'
