Ever considered trying Folding on it whilst driving around, employer pays the fuel and you get a warm cab all the time, just need a 3g dongle to upload and download the units :p

Ordered the triple copper pipe heat sink to replace my Single copper pipe heat sink.
Should be good for up to 4.5GHz. :D

Lies, he saved money by "only" getting the DVD RW - not the blu ray drive.

    Cheap-sake he is. :eeek:

Is that just a trick of photography, or do the screw spacings look slightly different on those coolers?

@Bennieboy: nah, he's just putting some cash aside in case someone develops a viable cooling loop for laptops. :D

It's not my Picture. I just borrowed it till it comes this week. :)

The screw spacing is the same. Also the place I ordered it from states for M18X R2. So it will fit! :)

I remember, a while back, that you were trying to buy a gaming laptop for under £2k, Simon. Looks like you went a bit over the mark there!

On the subject of cooling; I'm amazed you haven't already started plotting to hack in Water cooling or something similarly crazy.

Well you could say I went a little bit over...:D

If it was a laptop that stayed at home, I would have made a custom waterloop for it, but as I take it with me, air cooling is the only way, or until someone designs something small enough and efficient enough to replace air cooling. :)

There was that prototype with very effective vapour chamber style heatsinks. I don't think it was a full loop IIRC.

Yes, I saw that, shame they don't get into production for the M18X. :(

Bought this yesterday from Dell. Got 10% off and free shipping.

Very hard to find a decent well padded case for the M18X R2. So I had to pay the premium and go for that. :)

That's because, generally speaking, the US army doesn't make padded cases for items the size and weight of tanks.

Geekbench shows the laptop CPU i7 3920XM at the same clock as the 2600K to be faster. :)

Now I would like someone to run geekbench on their i7 3770K at the same 4.2GHz speed, and see how my CPU compares to it. :)
