@Pete J, How do older games fair on your 4K monitor, does Metro 2033 scale up and support such high resolutions?
^I've had no issues with almost all games. Older games that natively support 16:9 resolutions almost always recognize the resolution. Even 'way' older games (E.g. Doom 3 and Homeworld 2) usually have a resolution setting that is hidden away in a config file that allows you to manually set the resolution. The hardware requirements can become extreme again though - whilst I wouldn't class Metro 2033 as 'old' it can become a bit of a slideshow from time to time. The only real trouble I have is with true 'old skool' games that have very low resolutions, such as any DOS game or games like Wing Commander Prophecy. When I first got my monitor, these would only show on the left half of the screen, stretched to buggery. With the latest official driver, the image now displays centrally but with no scaling - making it laughably small. Unfortunately this cannot be changed in the Nvidia control panel settings like you would with a 'normal' monitor. Luckily I have my 3007WFP-HC as a backup whenever I feel like delving into the past.
Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Even with my relatively measly 7770, AC4: Black Flag is a beautiful game. I love how they provided the option to turn of the HUD completely (and unlike in AC3, it works). The game is much more immersive without all those pop-up screens and flashing pointers.
Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Screenshots are taken while I'm playing (with the HUD off), so I obviously haven't turned all gfx options to their highest setting. Strangely enough in these screens the aliasing is much more obvious than in game. Actually this is not a great game for screenshots IMO, half of the beauty is seeing things move and breathe.
Portal 2 Love the Assassin's Creed pics Pliqu! @Gunny: I've finally got around to purchasing Anno 2070, so I'm looking forward to screenshotting it. 'It's been a loooong time'
Finally got around to playing Far Cry 3, so figured I'd put these here. Just wish I knew how to hide the HUD for the first one :S
Might throw up some AC4 screens myself. Though they will probably not look as good as previously posted due to a non-1080p monitor >>
Portal 2 @Boardoombob: I need to play FC3. I have it installed. @Darkwisdom: Ohh, very GITS! Click on images for UHD.
Great game, so much better then FC2. I really must go back and finish it. Far too many new games in my "to play" list, .
God I wish I could run ENB on New Vegas, but my 8120 just nopes straight out of there the second I try. 20FPS max is not enjoyable. Good for screenshots, really bad for fun.
Have you tried the injector rather than the wrapper .dll? The injector tends to be more compatible and less harsh on system resources, but the effect you get isn't as good as the wrapper. Tweaking your own ENB to get a good performance/aesthetic ratio is a good idea too.
Metro 2033 This game is so damned good! This is my second playthrough and I'm enjoying it more than I did originally. So many little touches that scream excellent craftsmanship - for example, the fact that your in-game watch gives the actual time. It's so atmospheric as well - when wearing you gas mask you can feel the claustrophobia seeping in. I had to include the start up screen as well because even that is awesome. I can't wait to play Last Light. Click on images for UHD.
I've got metro 2033 on my steam list and I still haven't played it. It does look good though so I might get into it soon.
Metro 2033 @Darkwisdom: Make sure you're free from distractions when you do. One of the best games of the last few years IMHO. All done - still got the bad ending though
Getting the good ending in that game is difficult, although you can get it with ease if you know what you're doing and don't mind coughing up the odd bullet. I've played that game way too much. If my PC wasn't on the edge of death; I'd do an Ironman run and record it.
