Dammit! 2016 has started so badly. I thought we'd turned a corner when Cecil Parkinson died and the balance was going to be restored, then another 'good egg' ups and dies on us. RIP Terry, Mod the **** out of those gates of hell for me.
Sad news. I think he was one of the first people I remember talking to here, him and bulldog iirc. Didn't know him in person but he will be missed.
Damn, this truly sucks. RIP Terry, your build logs were much fun to read and full of amazing craftsmanship.
RIP Terry, another of the good guys gone. Carrie, thanks for letting us know, so sorry for your loss. As has been said already, I'll miss Tel's presence on here, inspiring and what a character.
This has done me in, I can't believe I'm reading this right now. I had the great fortune to meet Tel on a couple of occasions and he came across as a genuinely nice guy. He joked how the reaper was lying in wait. He made the forums a welcoming place, that hellish warmth and his sense of humour will be truly missed. Will be burning some trees in your honour bud, sleep tight.
Here's my last PM from Tel: - Good to hear it's still going strong, we have a great community here, maybe not as good as it was but still a pleasure to help. 7th Jan 2016 You were a pillar of this community, one of those who made it great. Rest in peace buddy : (
This is very sad news. I never knew Terry like many of you did but he was certainly one of the big names on here for me, a familiar regular who came across as a very nice guy. I'm not a religious sort but perhaps if I'm wrong I'll meet him in hell one day. My thoughts go out to all of you who knew him better than I did. RIP Teelzebub.
Well that's added to what's been a generally crappy week, such sad news to hear of Terry's passing. He was one of the people who got me interested in seeing what I could create with the scraps of metal & wood in my garage. Deepest sympathy to his family and close friends.
A sad loss for everyone who knew him, especially those close to him. And also a sad loss for modding in general as he was truly special in his approach and work. Always such a shame to see the good ones go...
Is this what growing up feels like? Understanding and feeling loss, even from afar, or from behind a screen? Condolences to Terry's family and friends, and goodbye to a truly fine gent.
RIP. I am sure he has already modded his new abode. My thoughts go out to his family & friends. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
This is sad news indeed Terry was such a pillar for this community, we owe it to him that we keep that column standing proud. His comments and humour always brought a smile to the forum, we've lost one of our best.
I didn't really know much about Teel', but he was a reassuring presence on this site and I offer my condolences to all that are mourning his passing. Love the idea of that custom-build Mayan case... I wanted to temporarily change my avatar to Teel's trademark Devil Eyes, but got told I wasn't allowed to use animated images. I suspect he's been buggering around with the settings somehow. So, in memory of the grumpy ****, I'd like to put it here instead. Hope no-one minds.
He wouldn't mind about the picture. It was one of his favourites, drawn by a good friend of his who was killed when young but also because it's very special - if you look at it upside down it's a different face. As for grumpy, he was the master of wind-up and loved to play devil's advocate just for the hell of it Grumpy? Nah! Except when the pain got too much to endure, even for him
