If I remember right, someone over on [H] does custom cases. It'd be something to look into as well.
I'm running a GTX 650 Ti and get around 16-18k PPD with a pretty nice OC (+160 MHz clock using Precision X).

there have been some problems with the latest drivers as well. you may wish to try the last latest version or a few of them prior to that.
