corsair hx 620 as of last week when my antec neopower 480W melted i was going to get the 520 corsair but the 620 was only like 12 quid more

300W that came with the case, powers a 9550, 4850, a harddrive and 4 gigs of ram, how low can you go =p
PC&P 750 Quad. too many freakin wires for a non-modular psu! lolz. MSI K9A2 Platinum, AMD 6000+ X2, MSI HD 4850 Quad Heatpipe, 80Gb WD, 120Gb maxtor, Lite-On DVD burner, Lite-On combo drive. wicked overkill i know, but for future upgrades i won't have to worry about anything.
Corsaire VX450. Quiet as hell. Cool. Not Modular. And Very good for my use (See my sig + a 2nd 500GB HD and a IDE DVD Burner[oldie i know hehe] )
Same here, I have a friend who was running an X2 6000 and x1950 pro SLI system on the "400 watt" PSU that came with his case. I convinced him to upgrade to a 400 watt Seasonic, and when we took his old PSU out, its casing was hot to the touch - and the system had been sitting at idle. The new Seasonic has handled the computer brilliantly for a year now. I think most people drastically overestimate their power requirements, but that's not to say a high quality PSU is an unneccessary expense. I'm not going to throw a big stack of money into a high-end computer and then toss in a $5 power supply (which is about what case-bundled supplies cost, at retail). I won't build any computer, no matter how cheap or low-performance, without spending a little extra for a PSU from a decent brand.
totally agreed. i could use a smaller one but i never know what i may upgrade to so i dont want to have to replace a PSU at the same time.
it's a pretty slimline case, i had to cut the case to mount the card flat, so a normal PSU wasn't really an option. Never really found a bigger PSU that can fit a slim mini-atx case. I've burnt tested it and it runs quite stable, spore on max graphics and other 3d games have no hiccups and it runs virtual pc with video encoding for the last 2 weeks. Still 0 problems, the PSU is not hot but the graphics card has some heating issue i belive, the heat transfer onto the mounting bracket and onto the side of the case, making the case bit more than warm to touch. Maybe i got lucky but i've had zero problems with generic cases that came with cases, but had a dead ultra psu, a TT psu and a coolermaster psu. My case is different to many people but that's my experience. In honesty people overestimate their PSU usage, and even upgrades don't require that much. 650W can power 2 cpu and sli/xfire and quite a few numbers of hard drive with plenty of breathing room.
