Took out four teeth, an appreciable amount of bone, a large abscess, and stitched me up, mostly without the benefit of pain medication. Nothing like being immune to the stuff. However, once they got the stitches in, the pain was immediately better. Two months of constant illness comes to a close in a paroxysm of pain, but it was worth it.

Just a few hours, and I feel like a new person!!! I've also gotten a new book as a get-well present-The Lord of the Rings Photo Book!!! For now, I gotta crash before work tomorrow, but consider tomorrow that work begins again apace...

Someone on XS mentioned making an adjustable-bow TDX, and as I had one in the closet and some free time, this is what I made.



This is a plate to give LGA775 mounting, adjustable bow, necking down for venturi effect (later pics will give more insight) and the mounts for the barbs. You can see the 4 knurled nuts that control bowing.



Was just a cool pic. Least it's clean in there...



A different view, the edges still need cleaning up, but there will be more to this block...





The old AM2 top, relieved for the knurled nuts rather badly and sporting my G1/4 threading, as I have no taps for it... Here you can also see the size mismatch, how I have more shaping to do on both sides of that plate... And here the venturi/scavenger idea comes in-flares for each side, to cover entry velocity and aid in block exit.



Captive O-ring compressions (these are by Koolance, ignore the green on them, they're fine)

Meet test board. I hate test board. May test board serve under me in fear for the rest of its natural days...



Blind tapped for hard mounting...





And mounted. It works like a charm thus far...

I don't claim to be an expert machinist. I have a Dremel and some files. That's it, but I still get stuff done. Still left to do is port matching, a new injector nozzle, and finding proper length screws. Test board was harmed repeatedly last night. It was harmed in the filming of this work. Test board is just generally here for me to hurt. If it wanted to "act" stable till it caught fire, it deserves it.

More is forthcoming, including more custom block, but this isn't finished by a long shot, so stay tuned...

I kinda like the wavy edge on the frosted plexi. If you take suggestions on woodstains, I say hit it once with a red stain, then a dark walnut stain. I like the inlay too.

First time I've done this since the Final Fantasy project...

When things calm down here more, more dwarven waterblocks...

 

This is an update that may take two parts, depending on Kerkythea...

So I designed myself a VGA block appropriate for up to four inline, with relatively low pressure drop (I may still use splitters) that does the job of a fullcover without being impossible to make at home. These pics are not the best, this is a rough hashing-out of what I want to do, they are by no means final. It's just a tool right now to figure the rest out, including dimensions.









Hopefully they should be self-explanatory, they are really very much like the HeatKiller blocks, but this one has a Dremel-capable interior design, no tubes to the MOSFETs, and the retention plates are made of wood. Since there is copper under the wood, there is still a path for the heat to travel to the block, so the aesthetics don't hurt it in the least.

Rendering this is taking a long ass time, let me tell you-and this is on a C2D with 2 GB of RAM-which means that whatever is going in Mithril, it has to be better than that...

Sharp eyes may notice this is an HD2900, and I have an HD3850, but I couldn't find an appropriate card, so I used this. I may have to make the model myself this weekend for the use of this project, we'll see as time progresses...

I use it and there are no string attached. No bandwidth limit. No registration required. Nice service. Only thing is if you clear your cache, you will lose the "Previously Uploaded" list.

 

Before and after, it shows a lot more detail in the idea, but the concept remains the same. Gotta get some good wood packs for Ky and we'll be set...

There is more behind the scenes going on, but I will wait for tomorrow and my three days of off time for that...

Pics are fixed, I do work a 12 hour a day job, so my time is limited on the days that I work. Please be patient with me.

Could you please elaborate a bit about how you did the silver leaf? I mean, how you got it so exact in the small places and such.

 

That transparent blue tinted block is acrylic right? If it is, then it seems to me that there isn't enough contact area between the copper and the water to transfer away enough heat. I could very well be mistaken here, so plz correct me if I'm wrong.
