Just like a sliding cover but to open it you push it inwards and slide it behind the rest of the casing. To close (it should have a small lip at 90 degrees) you pull it back across and it springs into the cutout for it and completely hides your fan. It would have to be square or rectangular though.

Hmmm... I'd stealth them then. You know, fix the screws to the inside of the case.. have you seen the grills that come with cheiftec cases as standard now? They look like 80mm car speaker grills. Very nice, I don't know where you would get them in silver.

No the ones I've seen were circular and domed slightly

Ah, good plan. Apparently, they have pretty good airflow and aren't too loud.

cool project and nice case, but why did you put the mobo on the right side rather then the left side of the briefcase?

it's on the right side, because all the breifcases i see have them on the right with the back of a normal case cut out and put in there, and i don't like that look since it doesn't look like a briefcase after you do that........so it's on the right so i can fit my PSU in there, and have room for the extra wires for all of the ports, which i am extending to the ouside of the case.....i want to keep it looking like a briefcase as much as i can......

I have the same breifcase! (Yep you've probably heard it a million times)
The aluminum mesh filters are awesome, they look a lot like the texture of the breifcase.
