So, in this scenario the elevator is in effect a world within the world, completely sealed off. Assumption 2: Both persons carry with them a set of items. Slim person has got the following inventory: - Two bottles of water - A bag of nutrient supplements he had just purchased at the pharmacy - His lunch (a whole grain baguette filled with shrimp and lettuce) - A cellphone (won't do him any good in this scenario - see assumption 1) - His laptop (see above, and also assumption 1) Fat person carries the following: - A bottle of diet coke - Four big-macs (lunch) - A cellphone (see assumption 1) - a couple of sticks of chockolate Now let's move onto disproving your statement: Fat people would only be able to survive for longer if they had enough vital water-soluble B vitamins in their system to help metabolise fat stores. So it is possible that a person could die of starvation and still be fat. In our above constructed scenario both persons carry with them a meal as well as drink. However, would it not be a fair assumption that the slim person, being health conscious and taking his vitamins, would have higher levels of water-soluble B vitamins in his system?
