Microsoft Windows is an abomination. Try a UNIX based system. Perfectly doable these days even for noobs.

Demoting? The fact that Bit-Tech.net site has recently only showing the last 5 minutes as new post, and NOTHING from last time. Across ALL my devices!

 

I don't understand what you mean

Windows is no longer the abomination that it used to be. W7 is a good OS which is user friendly, well supported and vastly free from annoying bugs. I have been meaning to put a UNIX box together though, and have been experimenting with a Ubuntu virtual machine for a while now.

 

Every time I've come into the site, all my "new posts" info gets erased, except for the the stuff from ~5 minutes ago.

 

It could be something is signing in to Bit-Tech a moment before you do. Showing new posts from when you "last visited"

 

Live a little. Get some experience.

 

Sorry Moddern, but he's dead right. W7 is the perfect OS for most folks, and with a few tweaks I love it. I've tried a few *nix distros and it's never easy to get everything how you like it, finding odd programs is much harder, drivers for weird/cheap hardware are a ballache. I could go on, but tbh I'm bored.

 

W7 is fine. I also use various *nix distro's (mint, kali and gentoo). Each is good at something, and has weaknesses in other areas. There is no "One OS to rule them all", and probably never will be.

now, back to demote pics. Sadly, I can't find the "TV set from scratch" linux demote I wanted to put here...

 

Save it for the marmite thread, kiddies. Now back to the demotes.
