Even though we’re all going to die, I find the word ‘quaruntines’ incredibly painful to read.

I hope this followed by another letter from the AG's office ordering "distribution to free clinics".

Maybe they'll all breathe on each other and live out the epidemic sick in bed.

    True.

It's what i've not got about the panic buying - people overly panic about a virus then throw themselves amongst masses of people.

    But then again, logic. :eyebrow:

Is it just me that thinks the urge to panic-buy is inversely proportional to the intelligence of the panic-buyer...?

It's weird. I live in Philadelphia and just went through the "panic-buy" phase. I hope it's over, but who knows.
Before it hit us, my parents in Washington state (gound-zero in the US for this thing) went through it. I saw the reaction of all of the people and said to my wife, "Let's make a shopping list and make sure we have two weeks of everything we normally buy. Let's get a few extra canned and frozen items as well. Also, make sure we're topped off on toilet paper."
I wasn't panicked. I'm very level headed in this and am not afraid of this virus. But I also know that if 1000s of idiots buy all the toilet paper, I won't be able to buy any in a week when we'd do our normal shopping trip (we usually buy ~1 month worth) and we'll run out.
So what's the right decision? Do I not change my own behavior and suffer personally for it? Do I have faith that if I don't change my behavior, nobody else will change theirs? Or do I predict what's going to happen and pre-empt it by changing my own behavior even if it contributes on some level to the problem?
The problem with a bank run is that it's stupid thing to do until everyone is doing it, and the best time to do it is before everyone else.
