Would that be a HOPE disc brake I see there? A C2 I do believe.
Geesh...man I'm sad, I can tell a brake from like half a disc :hip: :worried:

    update

Well know, there has some time gone by, but i had a lot of other stuff to do (and to mod :p )
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
The pics are kind of dark (wrong white balance) the brown paint is not so dark IRL. i did some drybrushing on it with black and brown paint, to get a nice skin effect. After all i gave it a clear coat for protecting the paint and the brushed aluminium.

Plan changed, this will _not_ be the head, it's a bit to big, and not enough metal/electrical style IMHO, i will try to build a head from aluminium with lenses or leds for his eyes.

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]
Today i started with designing the legs of the spider, might you've counted them. There are 8 pieces of each part, enough for only 4 legs. Becaus i first want to chek out if they are right, before spending ours on making 8 of them.

At the last pic you see the desing of the window. I think this mod will take a lot of saw, cut and sanding hours :p

I'm back :p lost some time with other projects, but the last 2 day's i did some nice jobs.

The basic materials (the thing on the right side i only need for the plexi)

A picture of the unfinished knobs with some blacklite.

The end-result. perfect circles, they look a bit dirty, because of dust. The hole in the middle will be cleaned too, but i already found out it's a hell of an job :p They should be mounted on potentiometers, usually they need a 6mm hole, my idea is to mod/sand down the potentiometers so they will fix in a 3mm hole

A pic how it should going to be. the alu sheet is'nt the final version. the holes and vertical cutted out lines are not straight enough. In the center there should be an logo.

    update/question

OK, i need some comment :p

I ordered an luxeon star III, and temporaly mounted it into my PSU:
    Don't mind the hot-glue, it isn't final ;)

    The effect :)
The problem is, the luxeon is a 160 degree one, so a lot of the light is lost, and not pushed into the fiber, like; the effect could be better.
The second thing is i'm not having much space in my zalman PSU (not as much as the cheap ones :hehe: )
So my idea was to mount the luxeon somewhere in my drive bay's with a box around it, and mount a lot of fibers at it, witch are also going to the molex connectors. This means some extra lightened cable's in my case.

Oh, and i'm having some great idea's for the LCD/lightbus :p (the thing i was already working at is only for the fan's.) I could post a lot of pics from stuff i gathered, but i will show it when i did some more modding :)

    update

    Update B)

I placed a small lens (from a laser diode) in top of the luxeon. The result is a bit more concentrated and so a brighter beam.

A picture of the removed switch, 2 wires are soldered. The opening in the case will now be used for a small heatsink for the luxeon. (now drying from painting)

The finished baybus. Only the knobs aren't glued on the potentiomers, and the wires should get connected.

The voltage regulators for controlling 4 fan's.

    Front
    [IMG]
    Back

There will be 3 more buttons, 4 for lights, 2 for switching fan's completely off. With nice looking lights next to it. It are normal off-on-off buttons, so flipflops and relais are needed to keep the output high or low.

You are might interested how i can controll buttons if they are on the back? I will show you soon :)

My 2'nd case is coming up, the guys from coolermaster are to lazy to reply to my send mails, so i decided to order one at my pc store.

    LCD working

The polished PSU, i know, you can buy them chromed, but polisching is free ;)

Well, this print is the baybus. It contains 6 switches (beyond the contacts), 4 lm317's for the fan's, a delayed- flipflop, and a motor power circuit.

My dad purchased this one, including some very sharp drills. I think i will use it more than he will do:D

    drilling time

    After some dremeling :dremel:

The end result, there are some fingerprints on it, and the other cap needs a grill too.

This week i hope to finish the PSU, i need a new luxeon (mental note, alway's chek the voltage before plugging in :duh: ) And some alu fan's.

    Comments / questions ? :)
