Not quite. The HX series are designed and built by Seasonic, and no other power supply uses that platform. Channel well builds several specific units, namely the TX 750. That one is an improved 750w platform that is the same as the thermaltake toughpower 750.
The HX1000W is also made by channel well technology, as far as I know it's only the HX620W and 520W that are made by seasonic. Moriquendi
Wow guy! You use a power supply with over three times the output required and it works fine lol! Seriously a banger like that most likely maxes at around 200-250 watts (AC). ALSO about the HX-series; atleast Xigmatek 1200 W uses the same design as HX1000.
+1 Also they have limited flex on the ATX cable. Been thinking to trade for a HX520 just for the better cabling.

Seriously, it's much better to buy the capacity one needs on a quality PSU and spend more on other parts, than to spend more on PSU which provides too much of an excess of power. Some overhead is good, but 1000W for a system that can get buy with 450W is a total waste of (financial) resources. 530W Tagan May have to upgrade it soon, as i must be running it near it's limit when i overlock my CPU, the heat coming from the PSU fan is worryingly hot and it gets a bit loud
Hiper 770W Type M powering: AAM AthlonX2 5000 (AM2) DFI NF590sli ATI X1900xt Audigy 4 3X500gb hard drives 2Xoptical drives 7x120mm fans running at 5v and about 30x LED's and lots of usb's The psu is a bit longer than most psu's, and it has a quiet 80mm fan in the rear, dont think i have ever heard it make any noise over the rest of the pc. Recomended Wattage comes to about 400W on a psu calculator
so many Corsair Hx series....... and here's another Hx620w powering: quad core q6600 at 3.4Ghz, 8GB RAM, 1 7200rpm (soon to be 2) + 1 10k rpm, 8800GTX overclocked to Ultra speed and 6 120mm fans. The machine is Folding (for Bittech) whenever possible on both quad and GPU. soon to have gtx280 or 55nm variant put into it. so i guess usual power drawn would be around 300, and with gtx280, it'd be about 350? Bittech members don't go overboard with PSU, everyone's educated
Some non-brand 500W jobbie running: Athlon X2 4000 at 2.5Ghz ATI 4850 pushed up a bit (cant remember how far) Some ram MSI K9A2 CF 2 Hard drives, 1 Optical 4x 120mm fans and 2x 80mm if you include PSU No bashing of my poop power supply, my system is stable and theres cold air coming out the back under load
They draw a true, honest 130 watts each at full load. This isn't a manufacturer specification or suggestion; it's from actual test data. Obviously, two or three of them will be quite thirsty and you'll want to plan your PSU accordingly. I wish manufacturers would concentrate a bit less on speed and a bit more on efficiency. My whole system draws barely more than that single card...
