Im nearly there aswell, i have to wrap up my pc next we and send it to ger, so i have to finish by then...

btw, are work in progress renders still not allowed ? i would really like to get some opinions on mine now...

no, that was done 3ds max, sketchup cant handle models as complex as that ( actually when i started very early with sketchup i tried and after wasting weeks of time just with encoutering more and more bugs within sketchup i decided to learn max )

so maybe now the swivel and ball joints / hinges make more sense

Pretty much all of the internal models are pulled from the sketchup components collection, ill provide a detailed list which model came from where when i upload the finalk renders, big thx to the modellers !!!!!!!!!!

I was thinkin of building it, but actually it reached a state of complexity ( AFTER CHEAPSKATE JUST HAD TO MENTION NAUTILUS !! ) that it would be really really hard to do it...

It looks like Geiger re-designed a beetle. That's a good thing, though. It's awesome.

Is there a way to make a private photo gallery here? Another option would be to PM the finals to confusis, and let him deal with posting them.

hehehe it looks like it a bit, true, i love giger btw hes one of my favs.
i thought about sending the entries to confusis, but for doing that he has to speak up
the open version even reminds me a bit of the bugs from star ship troopers
3rd entry pic rendering now the last one took over 12 hours...
omg epic crash.. lost 3hrs render time and 6+ hrs working on a webpage design anyway, now i know my way halfway through gimp

 

That's why you set up a dedicated render system. Multitasking with a render going is just asking to be hurt.
I should talk. My work rig is plugged into the cnc right now. -Thus the lack of updates from me...
