70 Charger 440 HEMI would do it for me...

Oh, and "modgodtanvir" here is how mine is standing at the moment.
probably got the same model car as you on my shelf :)

the frame, engine and transmission is finished, waiting for some new sheet metal (trunkfloor, wheelhouses and window sills)
than it is just some sandblasting and paint, and most of the remaining parts are allready in house..

Dude, no way! I love it. Looks like a lot of fun fixing that up...

The only muscle car we had over here was the Ford Capri:

Has to be the Shelby. I really don't like Mustangs unless they're pre-Foxbody

I bought a 1969 426 Hemi Roadrunner brand new from the factory in that orange color with a black interior. 4spd transmission with the "Super Trackpack" Dana rear end with 4:30 gears.

    You will have fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I prefer the '67 Stang to the '68 Bird, I don't like the front of the Firebird. But when it comes to muscle cars, 1971 GTO Judge 455 > *

Good looking but seriously heavy and over optioned from all the original ones I blew off with my '69 Hemi Roadrunner. It was a good time for American musclecars. Do not forget the "Scrambler". A red white and blue Rambler with a mail box on the hood. We HAD some iron in the old days!

I prefer the original '69 Judge

    Still, The Judge was amazing!

I'd go for the Shelby too. The closest I've been to either was as a passenger in a 1964, 4-dr, Pontiac Parisienne with chopped roof. Red with white leather/faux leather :naughty:

If I had to take one I would take the Shelby, but I would much prefer my 66 mustang fastback any day of the week, looks better :D I dont like the 67 fastbacks, and eventually Ill get around to converting it to a hard top convertible, I made all the parts to do so like a year ago lol.

I've always had a soft spot for the old Z28 Camaro (The '69)...

1969 GTO for me. But of the two in the OP, I'd definitely pick the Firebird.

I might pick up an 'almost running' '69 GTO in Sept. Depends on whether I can manage to stay in Univ or not.

I'm definitely not a big fan of American cars / muscle cars, so I'd grab the old one (Firebird).

The thing is: run past me in the Firebird, I think "Hm what a cool summer car, and in superb condition"
run past me in the new Shelby, I go "What a cock."
