yeah looks like it so do the displays light up for everyone when powered on? did mine blow for absolutely no reason
Naw, The dude who got his working on the [H] forum told me that thats normal, and his does the same thing
yeah, just paid for a clear double bay cover i will place my VFD on top of my DVDrom when it arrives. it's only $2.25USD from the clearpc.ca compair to £4.00 at theoverclockingstore
looks like ive gotta rethink my wiring then, cuz it seems to me like i killed mine (they lit up and now they dont) but now they do what everyone elses does. weird
okay, after seeing the dismal success rate on [H], I decided a relatively foolproof wiring tutorial would be in order: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?s=&postid=247414#post247414 I haven't tested this yet, mainly cause it's aimed at software I don't yet have. If you want, you can substitute FLECOM's table of connections for mine, and it ought to work with that Markuszehnder plugin. I'd only mess with that if you want some instant gratification. I wrote the tutorial mainly to show you all an easy/cheap way to keep the connection numbers straight.
Okay, but there's not "one true wiring." The software is coded to assume certain signals on certain pins, and that can differ among software. That wiring works with the MarkusZehnder plugin. And where's your pics?
Well, lads, the auction is over, how'd you all do? I got me 3 more, one is going to cheesie. Check out Chrix's pics of the thing in action:
I completely forgot to check it the last couple days (I bid the first day it was relisted), and the @#$%^^ price went up. No VFD for me.
Got 2 on thier way... now the hardest part of all... awaiting thier arrival before trying to let the smoke out or keeping it in depends on my luck.
me sighs and looks at my two borken (i think) displays. Hmmm ill try redoing the wiring and see if that helps. I'm thinking i either fried them (reversed +5v/ground) or the IDE connector thingy isnt piercing the wires and makin good contacts
I used your connector idea for my display. Mine was connected correctly the whole time, My problem was that I didn't have the correct version of LiQuid MP3. If that is what you're trying to use than check to see if you have 9.3 not the 9.2 from the website. Thanks to chrix walking me through it I got mine working.
Thanks for the lead guys, I got me one too. I'm still high from getting my 4x20 usb port powered lcd going. Don't dispair those of you having trouble getting them to work, it took me 2 months of on & off wiring & testing to get there. Check, check, & check those connections.
Same one you listed. But it didn't work at first. So I had to use the newest version of Liquid MP3 9.3 released Jan 19th. That will make it work. Liquid MP3 9.3 fully supports this display. Chrix has already made new skins for these also.
I'm still waiting on my displays from his FIRST selling.. I'm wondering if they got lost or something. How did you guys recieve them? UPS, FedEx, USPS, what?
