    That's my plan! :D

At first I was a little put off about choosing it because I've been toying with the idea of a gigabit network. Ended up realising that streaming to the PS3s should be fast enough without it and with custom firmware I'll have many more customization options which should be more beneficial in the long run.

I had the same router, with DD-WRT and without, and it worked great for streaming to a PS3. Now I upgraded to the E3000 (which has gigabit) and the only hugely noticeable difference is when copying big files.

Good! I've been rocking a DD-WRT loaded WRT54-GL with full heatsinking, an 80mm cooling fan, bigger boosted antennas, a large wireless radio TX signal increase and a modest Broadcom CPU overclock for a couple of years now. It's an incredible router! There isn't a single thing I can think of that I would want or need to do on my home router that it doesn't do :)

Although like yourself I did think about going Gigabit a while ago. Too many wires though - I have all but a couple of rooms in the house ran with CAT5 cable through the attics and I really can't be bothered changing it all now. Maybe I'll be more willing to do it in another few months but for now I've got other more important things to sort out. The current network setup here is working a treat anyway - I can stream anything up to 1080p Bluray rips from the server to any of the rooms in the house that have media equipment with no problems at all :thumb:

I bought this a few weeks ago, you wouldn't want to know the price I paid though. It's a Ben Sherman Valencia in grey wool.
