update 17 - PSU enclosure (list of all updates)

Hey guys! Finally I'm back with another update for you! Today's it's no big thing but just a little bit of grill for the PSU enclosure. I started cutting a steel perforated plate

first rust polish and dremeled some guide lines for the bending

    manual bending

    and just dropped in place

I will probably paint it BLACK, but actually I was quite impressed by the rough metal look of it in the case... i definitely have to consider to do just a good metal polish.

    what do you guys think?

    Very good job L1U! ;)

Grande! Davvero un bel mod.... sinceramente l'inizio non lo trovavo un mod fantastico ma dopo ho cambiato totalmente opinione, manualità impeccabile ;)

PS: Io la vernicerei nera quella griglia, si addice molto ai quite drive ;)

Basically he just said that he didn't find the case very interesting at the beginning, but he definitely likes it now. For the grill, he said he'd like it painted black.

Sorry mate we'll try to save italian for italian forums ;)

update 18 - sleeving part 1 (list of all updates)

Hey guys, finally time for some sleeving job! Today I had a nice package coming from UK full of sleeving goodies just waiting to be open! :D

    here's what was inside

unfortunately something was missing, I found out that some green UV sleeves were out of stock when I ordered them so I had a backorder and was refunded for the price... but my plan to make an italian flag with the 24 pin sleeves unfortunately must be cancelled for the moment :waah::waah::waah:

but hey, show must go on and i started working on what I got, so time for power button wiring and sleeving!

started cutting an old adapter for power switch and led lightening

    soldering and heat-shrink insulating

a faston on the other side to connect the wire to the power button

    more heat-shrink

I decided to make a little switch to turn off the power led if I want to, so I made a little modification to the wiring

more wiring and sleeving for fan extension cables

and finally some pictures of the wired power switch and the led switch also

that's it! more wiring very soon! ( I hope )

Hey L1U, very interesting design for the internal parts! I like so much the combination of grill and white plastic sheets. In my opinion, it could be amazing polishing all metal parts (leaving the hdd boxes as they are) and painting in balck the inner wooden case.

Great job, mate! i'm waiting for other updates! :thumb:
