I'm working late on Friday and for most of the weekend as well, so I'll only get a couple of hours in game this weekend. Luckily I do have the last week of the month booked off to make up for my long weekend, so I'll have a whole week to lose myself in X Rebirth.
I hope they are ready for the torrent of hate that will come their way from the Steam Forums when the game is not released until 12:04 ! In the end I succumbed to the lure of this game - I am hoping that it has a more gentle and progressive introduction than the last games as I just could not find the energy to overcome the initial steep learning curve with those. I am not saying I hope it has been 'dumbed down' - I sincerely hope not - I would just like to be introduced to the game along a steady rising curve of difficulty rather than just be left at the base of Everest with an ice-pick and an energy drink!!
Excellent! Unfortunately it doesn't really matter to me as I tend to get in at about 1830 on a Friday anyway (weekly food shopping and all). Now on the off chance it's bad, you're going to blame me! Egosoft have already received some flak for using Steam. I don't get why there are people out there who hate it but each to their own. They're in the minority anyway. I'm really looking forward to is spamming the screenshot thread with loads of pretty pictures!
The hardest thing about X was the micro managing part of the game. This is the part of the game which they have tried to simpler or more interactive and fun. X Rebirth: An Update from the Devs and Bernd Lehahn (26mins long) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODJa_Hh_sqY
Never! I will live and die by my own decisions - unless it's REALLY bad ;-) I have no problem with Steam as a distribution method either. However, the Steam 'forums' are toxic - they make the League of Legends crowd look like a gathering of the Women's Institute! Normally if a game is more than a few seconds late there is much foaming at the mouth and projecting of toys out of infant mobility devices...
Can't wait; just watching this video to whet my appetite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=NEbL1p5vZpw
If anyone is still looking to purchase this, I took a risk and bought it off gameholds.com using 'allkeyshop' as discount code for 5%. Was dubious but key arrived yesterday no problem and activated fine. Total price about £29.00.
Activated on steam? Im very tempted but havnt played any of the other x games (shame on me). Will I be at a disadvantage from not playing them? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
I would also like to know this. I've heard it said that it is "easier" to pick up, but that doesn't say much for a game series with such a steep learning curve. I'll mostly likely wait for some gameplay videos to come out next month and see. /2cents
Well I don't think it should be necessary to play the predecessors to this game as this has been marketed to be a lot more forgiving to newcomers of the series than previous titles have. That said I am looking forward to playing this Saturday (Work commitments AFTER work on Friday )
I had the game on pre order for a bout 1 year and it didt come to day so annoyed that normally send it a few days in advance should I got steam version. Sent from Bittech Android app
Good to hear! I've got to finish off Devil May Cry before I play this - should be able to do that tonight.
Tempted. ..... may get it tonight after reading up on some reviews. Online co op would sell it for me, does it have it? Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
