Brilliant, another machine that my other half wouldn't tolerate in the house ... I'm pretty damn envious. Glad you posted here, if I can't have one I can share the experience of watching one being built. Thanks for sharing :)

sure we did that :D it´s already a funny ride :D

    Time for a small update:

But before we start, we wanted to shoot out a big Thank You to A-Data, they already sent a nice package with the first components & PSU´s for this project!!!!

Beside that we overworked the upper frame in the last days....we did that just to get more options for the exact position of the steering wheel. That will be helpful when adjusting the seat for different persons (different arm length)

We also prepared a first part of the floor for the upper cage....on that part we will mount the Pedals...

    Time for a small update:

In the last days we completed the preparations on our self build hand brake...

We also started to work on the bottom part, so that we can adjust the angle and the position of the pedals....as next we´re going to attach a few motors to it....so that we can do that by pressing a button instead of manual adjustments (that will be much more comfortable when the build is finished)

it´s time for an update:

In the last days we mounted the motor for the pedal positioning system :duh:
but before we could to that, we had to make a small spacer, so that we could mount the motor for it approx. 2 cm under the bottom plate, so that we didn´t run in danger that the motor shaft could hit the parts above....

Beside that we started to bend the first parts for the outer shell of the upper part....this part will be used to cover the space down/left from the steering wheel, and we will mount the switches for the pedal positioning system there....

    ....and another update:

after starting to work on the first parts of an outside shell, we continued that work, so that both sides around the Wheel Base look the same....

after that we engraved a first detail to one part of the Pedal mouting plate....

it still had to get sandblasted, but i think you can imagine in which directions this goes...

Then we also started to build the outer shell for the front of the upper frame....for that we started with a simple cardboard construction.....

    which was wrapped in foil....

before we started to laminate the first layers of fibreglass...

    thanks a lot m8!!!

Naturally we continued the work on our Sim Project in the last days,

But before we start, we want to send a big Thank You to Intel and Aquatuning for their Support for this project!!!

In the last days we continued our work on the lower frame, so that we could start the painting process as soon as possible....

Beside that we prepared two sheets of metal for using them as cover for the lower frame and also act as a base for the hardware .....

After that we tried a few different combinations how we could setup the hardware on the frame....

as next we prepared a mounting plate for the Mainboard (thats only an dummy) and the SSD which will be used in the PC which controlls all the movement of the Sim....

and last but not least we prepared another sheet of metal for the front part of the frame....

....in the last days we continued the work on our project...

our next step...after testing out different combinations of hardware setups, was that we continued the building process of the hardware enclosure...therefor we had to cut and bend a few metal pieces which will later be riveted to the base plate of the sim ....

    @ Warnoob thx a lot!!!

After a few weeks without any updates i wanted to show you the progress which we made in the last weeks.

We spent the most of our time to finish a few details of the sim and we also started to work on the Chassis for the Gaming PC which will be used to play the games on.

But before we started to work on our Gaming Sys we spent a few hours to organize the cables (maybe we have to overwork this when everything is done) of the Sim Control...

beside that we also worked on a few smaller details like a small switch cover, which will be used to cover the main Power Switch of the Sim itself....

Then we started to work on the Gaming Sys, for that we took an CM HAF Stacker as a base for the next steps of our work. First we disassembled everything.

Later we continued with the Top of the case which had to loose some parts....

After cutting out the first sections of the Top, we continued our Work with the first sidepanel....it also had to loose a huge part of its metal.....so that we could fit in a huge block of styrofoam which will be used to give the whole panel a new shape....
