I cant see guy being a permanent presenter I don't think he would comfortable doing a show like top gear anyway.

My favorite out of the rumor mill is
Steve Cogan -he a car nut and funny guy who doesn't take him self too seriously

vicki butler-henderson she the best presenter on fifth gear.

not sure about third but agree that as much as like Philip Glenister acting i dont think he make a good presenter.

No, Clarkson, May, Hammond and Wilman earned them £50m a year, the show itself has no chance of earning that kind of money without them and the Beeb know it.

..and nobody has suggested otherwise, but they can hardly throw a f**k-it at the thing and walk away. The brand still has some value, and they need to rinse it for every penny they can.

I'm expecting it to bomb, but I'll give it a look first.

Was just on my way to post this. Personally I think this is a poor choice he is too full of himself. But I will give the program a try with him presenting it. Not sure that he will gel particularly bwell with the other two though. And letsvhope he does not spend too much time boasting of his own collection of cars.

    Hmm meh.

That's all I can say really, just wish they would let Top Gear rest in peace.

It might end up being watchable but it's not going to be the Top Gear we all know and love.

"Too full of himself"? Surely that will see him fitting in nicely.

Evans knows his cars, but it feels too 'safe'...

Also how's it going to go over with foreign markets who see the name 'Chris Evans' and think of the guy who plays Captain America...

I'd sooner a rabid weasel chewed my nut sack open than suffer Evans.

Chris Evans, not my first choice buy who knows, granted we don't know the rest of the line-up yet.

To be honest top gear needed a kick up the arse anyway, even prior to the whole punch debacle, there was constant criticism towards the decline of the show.
Personally I agreed with the criticism, as to me the show had become stale with the excessively staged/scripted segments, and the main 3 essentially portraying an over the top parody of themselves.

Not sure about the choice but it depends who the other two are, though if Clarkson and co start a new show will the new 'Top Gear' stand a chance?

I despise Evans on the radio, I feel like he's a self-righteous little git. That being said, I'm willing to give this a proper chance.. I feel they should have stepped away from the Top Gear brand though, as that will always be synonymous with Clarkson et al. They need to get his pairing right though.. they need someone with very quick wits to bring the chatty-ness to the show.

Im also willing to give it a go because it hasnt got Hammond, who I think is a total idiot and dragged the level of chat between May and Clarkson to a sub-childish level.
