Genelec 8330A with GLM 2.0 kit

it all started with new set of XLR cables, then power hub & cables followed, out of nowhere i was thinking about getting a new DAC, thankfully i never bought one and went for a set of Genelecs with room correction kit instead:thumb:

    NICE!
what do you do for a living or as a hoppy that you spend that much on studio monitors?
    Those things aren't cheap.

Yes, it's crazy. I had to ditch all of my hard drives (barring my SSD) to get it to fit! I'll eventually work something out though.

i enjoy listening to music :D

they're not exactly cheap at £1200 but don't forget they've integrated amplification, and the little box that's used to calibrate the speakers can be used in place of a DAC.

you'd struggle to find speakers with same specs, a good amp, dac, and a room correction software (and a mic if its not included) for that amount.

I just realised that I spelled "hobby" as "hoppy" - i'll go get my coat now...

Even by amplified small studio monitors they're not cheap, mate. Considering that more "pedestrian" KRK Rokkits and Yamaha HS-series are considered studio quality...
Either way... very nice buy... can't deny that I am a little Jelly.

£3,300 on roof repairs - however it won't need doing again (hopefully) means I'm going to be poor for a few months.

I've been getting nagged at by the fiancee that her bike has been sat in bits for months and she wants to use it, so ordered some new stuff to keep her happy!

well its an expensive hoppy ;)

having tried my old 8030A's against the "pedestrian" monitors, and Adam A5X i found them to be the best, that's as in my preferred sound signature.

plus there's the 4 year warranty and the enclosure is made out of aluminum (it doubles as heatsink too :D how awesome is that ?)

unfortunately i won't find out until next saturday :(

and honestly i don't know what to expect, i've read shitloads of impressions/comments stressing that room treatment and/or room correction is the best upgrade you can make.

i understand the importance of it, but as i have never heard such setup before its hard for me to imagine what i'm in for...

i'm also curious what difference will my budget DAC do once i have them calibrated, i'm hoping for a miniscule improvement at best so that i won't be tempted to upgrade...

It's been a long time since I've had a wireless mouse, but so far I'm impressed and it's more comfortable than the G500 that I use on my main rig.

This is to replace my Lumia 1020, and my first none windows phone for over 2 years. Android has changed a lot since the last time I used it!
