is that front piece of plexi going to be coloured? or replaced with metal as I think it would look beter that way. It's turning out really nice.

How about some stealthed front ports in that gap.

Been keeping a eye on this and must say that you made a hellava nice case...really like it :thumb:

As andrew said, may look better if the plexi was tinted.

    Thanks for your comments :D

I will be tinting all of the plexi using some Dark Smoke window tinting film.

Hopefully you will not be able to see in when the lighting is off but be able to see all when on. I will also be using some aluminium mesh on the front panel and intake fan.

But I want to replace the plexi first with thicker stuff to allow for some LED lighting to be employed. At the mo it's only 2mm so I think I'll use some 5mm which is the thickist I can find locally.

As for water cooling...it's something I've never tried. I do not plan on overclocking either of the machines and those large Zalman HSF are pretty damn quiet...so much so that the loudest components are the hard drives. Maybe something to think about for a future update. As said there is plenty of room in the case.

More to come in the next day or two.

    Cheers, CC

yodasarmpit used some black window tint from Halfords when doing Project -::Y::-. Seen his case in the flesh and when the cathodes are on ya can see inside and darkness when off. Nice effect.

CharlieCat, have you thought about making some HD enclosures out of aluminum and/or plexi? that can cut down on HD noise quite a bit. thats what i plan on doing later on from a milled out 2" 7x7 piece of T6.

anyways, love the progress so far. :D

Smok’n setup Bro…I love the diamond plate, takes me back to my younger days in the body shop. You just have to put wheels on this thing. Maybe some small industrials…you know the kind, spring loaded in the back with locks on the side. You could put stationeries in the back and swivels up front. It took me 45min to read though this thread...and worth every minute of it.

    You

I love the aluminum, I've been trying to find out what the stuff is called. What is it, how much did you pay, and where might i find it? (if its not too much trouble :hehe: )

Seriously, awesome work. Perhaps you could create a designed face plate that the optical drives mount to that fits with the whole theme, but doesnt look too out of place in the middle of the case... and are you planning a HDD rack from the aluminum? I might have missed if you said so, but I think it's only fitting that it should match.

    Precision work man, truly.

i just gotta say that your case rocks!

you should put a small lcd screen up there in the middle of the fanbuses, you could have a switch to choose between server / multimedia comp, cool eh?

Instead of a VFD, why don't you pick up a small-ish LCD monitor?

The best buy around here is selling a 14" one cheap.
