Audioengine A2+. They're very surprising considering the size. I've just put them on wedges to angle upwards more and it makes them even more impressive. The A5+s would have been nice but they're huge and wouldn't have fit either side of the screen.

They look like they mean business at the same time as being itty bitty - much likes.

That'll have been... 1995, maybe? I was probably playing Doom. I might play Doom now. Send cans of Mirinda.

    What the hell is Mirinda?

Ah the 90's when smiling was still a thing. That is smiling right? Or are you squinting?

Edit: points for matching your dress code to your computer and peripherals.

Best orangeade in the world. You can get it in the UK from Asian supermarkets - some takeaways carry it, too.
Little from column A, little from column B - that flash was bright!

Anybody recommend decent storage? I've been using these cheap Ikea shelving doo-das for the meantime but with a lot more stuff moving into this room I'd rather make the most of the space. Doesn't have to look pretty but I refuse to use those wire rack shelves.

Ikea Kallax units are flexible, nicely finished, cheap enough and quite robust. Three of them of various sizes have been in my daughter's playroom for a few years and still look new.

+1 to Kallax. We picked up a 4x2 (or 2x4...whatever...) unit for the lounge recently and I was amazed at how much stuff we could pack in there.

Might just be sold on this, few upright and a few on castors :naughty:

You need to go request your commission.

We've just bought a number of IKEA Kallax units too, they're pretty decent and you have a decent number of options when it comes to drawers, cupboards or open shelves.

Another vote from the Kallax massive. One wall of my old office was Expedits, their precursor, and two walls of my current office are Kallaxes. You can easily modify them if you need to store anything wide, like board games.

Just added some Kallax in my den for additional storage, very flexible with the various options on inserts/doors/drawers etc

I've to a 2x2 Kallax unit with wheels in the kitchen for cookbooks, records, record player on top and the ever-elusive box-o-cables.

Had another layout change now the Mrs has her own gaming pc:

    Hers:

    Mine:

    Just enough storage:

    Her new (and first) PC:

    Specs are:

Corsair Carbide 275R w/ Tempered glass side panel
    Ryzen 2700X
    Auros X370 MB
    GTX1060 6GB
    16GB DDR4
    256GB NVME SSD & 2TB HD

Performance is spot on with a rock solid 60fps in Destiny 2 (turning off V-sync saw between 70 and 100fps) with everything set to near maximum (I think one setting is on medium) at 1080p. The 2700X makes mincemeat of my 8700K in multi threaded workloads but I plan to do a more deep dive in the near future to really see where the deltas lie.

Her "monitor" is our old Sony 1080p TV. This is in part due to the fact I still want to hook up my old consoles and the picture quality is brilliant. It isn't ideal as a monitor (a bit large and the input lag is noticeable compared to my Dell S27), but right now we don't have the right layout to fit it and another screen in at the same time.

I love these threads :) I lost my "conventional" gaming room to the son years ago.... so the wife and i have gone the "unconventional" and gone full lounge lizard gaming mode.

These are old pics now and things have changed a bit, but the custom gaming tables are still the same.

The PC changes every other month with a new case mod...

The best part is being able to pc/game and catch a movie on the big screen :)

The workshop setup is still a Work in progress, with a new case mod being built.

The son's pc room is also a WIP ... getting him out so i can work in there is almost impossible.
