Yes and, if you're bored, you can count the rabbit corpes on the road that skirts the loch.

To be fair, they do that in the New Forest too, but they bring backup in the shape of cows and horses; and they give precisely zero sh!ts*. They're like "no, fcuk you, go round me".

The New Forest also has level 3 live roadblocks in the form of stroppy donkeys..
I'm sure a pony or donkey managed to get inside a convenience store in Brockenhurst the other year!

 

Something I've learned from life in the country side, Donkey will go where Donkey wants to go and there's no way to stop him. I swear they can teleport.

Now for the nicer things in life. For some reason I had 48 lanes in my head for TR. Probably confused by the top end Intel chips.

Any way, given I have a stupendous amount of lanes I decided to upgrade my storage.



Got two of those in the 256gb flavour purely for games, and talking to the boot drive (which runs very fast also). One NVME fits under the "south bridge" cooler and one (my Intel) already has an EK sink on, so to make the last one of these blend into the board I got this.



That'll hold four very large games. It'll also use up 12 lanes in total just for NVME. Then another 4 lanes just for the Intel U.2 if it can fit and yeah, this thing will be stuffed to the seams with storage.

I did consider the Corsairs for £4 more, but I have had terrible luck in the past with Corsair, with a 100% record of them all basically failing.

I can, if I choose, also mess around with NVME RAID which apparently is now free on AMD. But yeah, that is more about something to pee with later rather than a stipulation. I like lots of baskets, me.

I feel very chavvy having done this, but I am on the cusp of needing new not-summer footwear and I'm not feeling up to buying custom made Nicks or Whites boots (Closer to a grand than is perhaps sane..), so I went with Timberland 6" Premium boots. Although, also somewhat custom because then I could have all black and hopefully they won't look as "Timberland"-y as the tan ones do. With a bit of red on the heel because .. Hell, they're my boots and the option was there.

 

Yes, Loch Lomond, Jura, Islay and Arran are pretty damn close. Might turn out to be a holiday of a lot of hiking and a lot of whisky. Maybe just drunk stumbling across the hills and islands, who knows?

It'll be awesome, there's no question about it.

 

Just, er, don't drunkstumble down any ravines or whathaveyou. Given to understand that is quite detrimental to ones health.

 

Not got a good track record when it comes to co-efficient of restitution, yer average human...

 

That's (part of) why I have my girlfriend with me. To stop me from being too drunk/stupid.
