I used neoprene craft sheets to fill that void on my previous board.

    Thanks everyone!

I'll try do some mods like this, put polyfil/cotton wool, masking tape and packing foam under the PCB. Also add O rings for every key and look at a mat to go under the keyboard.

Hopefully combination of everything, it would be quiet enough.

Speaking from personal experience, bearing in mind this is heavily dependent on your level of geekiness, o rings ruin the feel of mech boards.

Oh balderdash! Amazon have the duragod with silent blacks, which is the key I really wanted, but it's in beige

You mean God's Own Colour, as Popularised by The Mighty IBM?

I'm using a beige Durgod right now, oddly enough.

Is it plate mounted? On a notched plate?

Buy em both, transplant the springs and stems then flog the spare

Oh now I didn't say it was a bad thing, only bad thing being a larger dent in the wallet sourcing black and red keycaps :naughty:

It's been purchased. Now to find the caps

Silent Blacks are lovely switches! I’ve got a set here lubed and filmed and waiting for the Ellora65 board I’ve joined the group buy for.

Would you recommend additional lubing for a factory fresh keeb, or wait and see what it's like first before jumping down that rabbit hole? Mind you it's getting delivered to work. For some reason the silent black version was not available for next day prime, so now I have to wait till Thursday :sigh:

The difficulty in a pre-built is getting into the switches to be able to lube them because they’re soldered in. I’d give see how it goes as stock though. Mine were pretty smooth to start with, just a little spring scratch that you probably wouldn’t hear in normal use.

Some prebuilds have removable switch tops but not many... I find my mx silent reds just as smooth as the regular reds I lubed myself to be honest. I have a feeling they might actually be factory lubed

Well it's not a cheap board and they come with a good reputation, but price isn't really a guarantee, as shown in the Mountain Everest. That thing sounded like the carcass of a cheap mattress that had been left out in the rain and used as the pissing-post by the local canines.

That is a beaut, that colour works so well.

I'm almost tempted to grab it for one of my retro Win98/95 PCs.... but I should probably finish bolt-modding the IBM Model M that I started nearly two years ago... :worried:

I know the red numpad enter is a little untrue to form, but I want it
