the guy in the store was pretty positive about the electro-magnetic noise being so low that placeing it very close to a computer wouldnt be a problem.. now I didnt tell him that I was going to have it inside the computer.. I was worried he might call a psyciatric institutuion or something :D But as I said, he had no doubts about the fan being harmless to computers!

Bamsefar: Yes it runs on 230V, no we dont care, and I can assure you that getting your fingers in that fan is not a good idea :wallbash: :hehe:

hmm.. you guys have any suggestions on the lighting subject?
I thought I should stick to one UV catode and a few deep blue leds.. maybe get some blue water dye and blue or white uv cable sleeves..

gonna try to crome some of the parts inside I think.. like the pump and the DVD&DVD-R
maybe lay a mirror on the bottom, but I'm not sure how much use it will br when the fanhole takes up most of the floor space anyway

Any lights near the fan would be sweet because the rotating blades would make a flickering effect on the ground which would be sweet

I think the two 3xLazer leds (blue) I have would work very nicely for that :)

I might experiment a bit tho.. like haveing an all blue theme exept for the huge fan being lit with red leds.. think that would look wicked? :D

Well, technically you should have the same amount of air being pushed out as is being pushed in. I'm afraid of the air pressure that will build up inside of the case :blah:

heh.. its not like the air will stay in there unless its pushed out by other fans :p Yes it will be a bit of overpressure, but I cant see why it would be anything to be afraid of

robotguy9000: read post #1 a bit more careful and you'll find out!

you should just make the top out of modding mesh... the holes are small enough that stuff wont fall in but lots of air can get out and you wont need any exaust fans... just duct work.... that will save on noise. just use that one big fan to cool everything... cept the cpu of course

Which is water cooled if you look.. So no need for a fan there! Probs no need for one on the rad either

hmm.. I did think of placeing the radiators in the top to channel the airflow directly through them, but then I would loose a lot of the insight from the top, and thats a bit sad since the case is pretty low..

    any thoughts on that?

anyway: I couldnt wait to get started, so I have now started cutting the floor and 3 of the side panels
its not too late to relocate the radiators though

Chapter Two: "And the case was without form, and void..."

Today I decided, very spontaniously, that I wanted to start building the case. Out of this boring plate of MDF (if you dont look at the girl) I will create a computer case whitch will hopefully be less boring.

1: The girl I had to sacrifice for this project! (needed the material :) )

2: The carnage has begun.. or the build.. both at the same time is nice!

3: The dog ate my glove...

4: Overview of the case so far with the fan and a busted mobo to give a better impression of it.

I've given it some thought, and I think I might be going for your solution with the mesh, BadKarma...
I'm still tipping back and forth on it though :blah:
