People i have made a site about casemodding & sketchup
and i can host all kinds of sketchup models
but hosting a model without the credits of its maker isnt correct
so if you made a model let me know so i can host it and use the correct credits

    (This is the site)

You should include a preview with each file.

I'm working on my concept for my next major project. I've gotten a lot of it done mostly thanks to the models you guys have made. I will post it after its done and after I've secured permission by all the people who's models I used.

Btw, any chance of someone doing a dual 80mm fan rad? Its one of the few components that I'm missing. I attemped it but it started taking me way too long and I wanted to get back to the case itself.

Sketch up is a very cooling little program. I think I'll use this to plan most of my projects. A very useful tool indeed.

BTW, those training videos on the sketchup site are incredably helpful guys. And just to let dial up people (like myself) know it isn't worth the extra time for the high quality files. There truly isn't much difference.

Also, if you kinda look for it, the developers dropped little bits of humor all over this thing and the videos. For example in a video "Clicking three times will select the suface and whatever other surfaces its connected to. Quadruple clicking will cause your computer to blow up, so be careful."

Yeah, I'm looking for an dual 80mm fan radiator and a slot load laptop drive.

Sketchups export tool is very cool. I've been playing around with AVI tours and its a great feature of the program.

Use WinRAR to open the .rar files.

download an 80mm fan and scale it by 1.5. this will give you a 120mm fan albeit not to correct dimensions, just for size comparison though :D

rekarp: you need to find a site which lets you upload .skp files (a few are mentioned in this thread).

stickeh: scale it by 1.5 all over, then resize in other dimensions (thickness) and it'll be close enough for a plan.

everyone: sketchup is best for sketches - no need to over-complicate your models.

Well I decided to try sketchup out and I think i'll stick with 3d Studio Max and Autodesk Viz as I'm a lot better with them.
But anyway I did make a model of my Acer AL1931 19" LCD if anyone wants to use it. The base of the stand is actually different more a Diamond shaped ring but I couldn't be bothered trying to do that so I just made that bit up but the rest is acurate also if anyone has or know where some DVI, VGA and S-Video plugs are in sketchup form I'll put them in otherwise feel free to use it as you like.
