I worked on the custom Mopar grill and yes, I know it's not perfect, but it is a start. Here's kind of what I'm looking for. Except I want mesh. Not thin modder's mesh, but something thicker. So I took it from this old case. Here's what it looks like joined to the grill framing And then again with the "M" All the excess along the sides had to go....So I started cutting Till I finished And replaced the "M" Here's kind of what to expect with the case fan attached. One last thing. Should I leave the "M" Silver or paint it? Maybe to match the case (at least as close as possible)?
Take the mesh to a black and the Mopar yellow so you have something on the window side to tie the two sides together. If you can match the yellow in the bee you would be golden. I know Sherwin Williams can paint match almost any color as we use them for Military paint matches where I work.
I think I want to paint the mesh to match the case. I need to see if I can get a close enough match to the case color for the mesh. Here's a look of the black M thus far.
It's a shame you've already cut the excess mesh off or this may still be possible. By taping it gently into a hole in a piece of timber the exact size of the edge of the grill - you'd be able to get something that would sit behind the edge of the rim, but have the middle sit up level with the front, or even slightly proud to give it a nice finish. There was a pretty good write up on how to do it in the Pinky2 log IIRC. I'll try and find it later.
Something is missing.... to make it look a lot better. Could you try inverting the colors black mesh and a silver m, or green maybe. Concept is great is just missing something... or maybe is just me...
Why did you buy a SLi motherboard but a non-SLi videocard? Seems a bit of a waste now you've lost the ability to upgrade to SLi...
Yeah I know that, but the one he bought (or at least the one in the picture) cannot, because it doesn't have the SLi connector along the top edge.
That is a funky looking GFX. there is a black rim on the edge (black edge on the rim?) wonder if it is just a protector or an anit sli device.
I have the DFI SLI-DR and a x1900XT - so i cant run SLI - does it bother me, no would i have run SLI - most likely not why did i buy a SLI motherboard ? a) Its hard not to b) the feature set is very nice Also that card will not run SLI - there is no SLI connector - well unless its capable of non-bridged SLI
