It's been typically Italian racing team, the Enzo Ferrari approach.

I think the big man himself sums it up best.
Aerodynamics is for people who don't know how to build engines

Nevermind, couple more years and Audi will pull the plug.

Rumours growing even stronger for Ducati to go Open, Cal sort of dropping hints (or doing a good job of trolling) on twitter earlier today

MM has now taken the Sepang track record and VR was very close behind. Alexis Espargaro absolutely flying as well :eeek:

Indeed, but the Ducaits are always good for one flying lap... not ~25 :D

Here are MotoGP, WSBK and BSB calendars for 2014 :thumb:

Neil Hodgson and James Toseland cannot stand those two even though they were talented riders but when it comes to any kind of commentating it's a no go for me.

Tomorrow we probably find out if the unofficial confirmations of Ducati going Open are really true or not (90% chance they are, IMO) - although some sources are saying Ducati will officially announce it in March. They have to tell Dorna tomorrow though, so we'll know for sure regardless as someone will leak it

Yamaha seems to be sucking on the new tyres, losing edge grip, which they (well, JL) rely on heavily.

The Honda seems to love the new tyre, what a surprise

Pedro fastest in day Sepang 2, Day 2. Everyone (bar Dovi) working on setup, no race simulations or super fast laps. Many complaints of a dirty track after a Ferrari test, making things more difficult for all

3 weeks 1 day until first official practise :cooldude:

Goodbye forever of any chance of Cal becoming a champ in the MotoGP class. Fingers crossed for Smith and Redding

I don't think any of those three will ever win a championship regardless of any bike they're on (sorry :D) but this simply has to be a good decision for Ducati, and probably will be seen as the 'fork' in the road for them. Perhaps a little like their decision to go with Bridgestone in 2004 :)

So, if I'm reading this right, the open option allows them more freedom in bike chassis and engine development, but restricts them to a standard ECU map?

So does this mean the factory option restricts chassis and engine development? - the bike you start the year on is the bike you end it on?

    Confused.
