I am in awe - that looks industrially made. Or, even BETTER than anything mass produced.

I've just read his thread all through again as I've missed quite a bit, and I have to say you've done an amazing job, from both a design and engineering view point, its looking superb :thumb:

Did you end up blasting it to get that finish?

    All,

I apologize for the delay. Since I've kept you waiting for so long, I'll just right in with a load of pictures.

Awsome looking stuff. It looks absolutetly perfect.
Is it anodized aswell or is it only blasted so far? Kind of hard to tell.

Looks to me like the tape was to protect the exterior during blasting, so that's unlikely to have been blasted too...? And it can't have been anodized with the tape on it...

    Yeah, I'm just guessing here.

Beautiful finish, but won't sandblasting mess up the sharp edges and threads?

Thanks :cooldude:. I'm actually surprised it turned out so well.

Read through all of it eh? I'm flattered! I blasted it with glass beads.

This is just a glass bead finish. No anodizing whatsoever.

    Bazinga :naughty:.

When you anodize, it's actually bad to have sharp edges (due to the way the crystals grow on the surface). The threads will be fine. It's mainly a cosmetic finish; I could have sat there all day with the gun on a single spot and hardly wore anything down.

:D Wow I thought that was anodised also, you chose well on the internal finish :).

Have you found an anodiser you can trust to handle this beauty?.

I'm going to stop by one that deals mainly with production / prototypes pretty soon. Hopefully they will understand that I will not be very happy if they screw it up.
