    au countraire, mon ami! :D

I read that review fron to back, but there are no crossfire results in there either. Again, i'm looking for CROSSFIRE comparison between 1GB and 2GB cards at high resolutions. Anyone?

I wouldn't bother if I had the money, i would get a pair of GTX460's in SLI.
Just wish I had the money for even a single 460. Anyone want to swap my 260 for a 460?

Feeling lazy so I will just ask, how does this stack up against a 5970 in terms of price and performance?

Slap on a custom waterblock and this card might be more attractive at that price. Does anyone really expect to get a big OC aircooling a GPU...

I'm wondering why Asus still hasn't made a WC ROG series?

I mean do it like DFI did with their boards, or hell have a waterblock on the NB/SB pre-installed and same with the graphics cards.

    Sapphire's HD4870X2 anyone?

That would be a custom-designed waterblock to cover the unique VRMs of this card and the memory that's on the rear of it? If you fancy knocking us up such a block, we'll give it a whirl! :b

you could maybe use something like the mcw60 on the gpu and ramsinks elsewhere...

it's safe to assume that you won't be overclocking much further than 1030MHz - though it made a freaking racket at that speed it's still pretty near the max before subzero cooling.

Why do companies continue to waste time and effort with these "rehab" reference cards with a slight overclock and a big price tag?

Just give us the HD 5890 already. GOSH!

    make sure it's 1ghz 1536mb 384bit $500

There's no real place in the market for a 5890. Overclocking doesn't give a massive improvement either, and I'd imagine that only a small percentage of Cypress cores can actually get to 1GHz, which would make a 5890 be cost-inefficient.

Good point but I believe there is a HUGE market for a HD 5890 as the GTX 480 easily kills the HD 5870, ATi's high end HD6000 won't arrive until 2nd Q 2011 so in the mean time a HD 5890 will be perfect to rival the GTX 485 (Fermi 104).

Just like the HD 4890 a slight re-engineering will allow the easy 1ghz core and a greater boost in performance as the HDXX90 are a lot more than just overclocked HDXX70 cards as the re-engineering of the board produced a quieter, cooler, more efficient, and a more powerful card.

Last I remember the HD4890 wasn't exactly quiet.
