that's the main problem of the game at the moment. i often play on Novatech community server, having fun with other people from Novatech forums when a group people from a clan decides to drop in, and make the game completely one sided with their 40+ levels and their own voice communication. DICE needs to fix team VOIP and add a BF2 style communication system. (keep the spotting, just add something for more team coordination) i am forced to use my G keys for quick coordination.
TBH with you dude, most online games especially the Battlefield range have always being like this. Your best bet is to go into a favoured server. But i am quite surprised this clan server you were in acted in such a way, maybe they were immature? Mostly, clan servers have strict rules to follow and this for me allows the team to work together to achieve the goal. I wouldn't let anything like this put you off the game. Once you've found an awesome server, you'll be glued to the screen
God this game gets annoying. I was on a server for about 10 rounds, my last game, with 3 kills left I get swapped to the losing side... Even though I was on longer. Also, I've not noticed this that much, even on CSS, but bloody hell the kids are annoying. Good game though, annoying how the higher ranks all have an advantage of decent guns, but that's with any game really with a ranking system.
the autobalancing is annoying and strange. but as far as i can see, it only switches you if you die after it says "auto balancing will commence". it also depends on the server, i had been in a server where it switches when there is 1 player difference, so i was been switched from one side to another continuously, until the admin sorted it out. the kids are annoying? not sure what you mean. i wish they put in a bonus score system into this game, so that people don't leave right before the team looses to boost their stats.
The kids who play the game. There was one kid on a server I was on and he kept saying owned, I'm amazing etc etc, and how he was getting high score in points and at one point he said "I'm so amazing nobody can touch me" (Although with little grammar or spelling correct. He never noticed the fact he had like 6 kills 15 deaths..
That is a darn good price,local blockbusters is selling it for £15,but I already have it. Unfortunately I paid £24.99 for mine on release,but at least its not as bad as £39.99 for consoles. Really good game,grab yourself a Steal of a DEAL!
Just played online for the first time - quite fun, and I can see myself getting into it... A lot quicker than playing the campaign though - much harder to snipe people from a distance than the dum arse NPCs on the Normal setting in the game!
+1, I can barely hit anyone with the sniper. Matter of fact, I can barely hit anyone with anything, Been playing online for a total time of less than a day (not got the badge yet), and I'm only rank 4. I seem to remember that in BF2, you'd progress through the early ranks really quick, and then it'd take ages to level. BC2 seems to be just taking ages to gain each level, . Really annoying when you spawn, get snipered, spawn, snipered, spawn, snipered. Bloody annoying people with the GOL and M95. Need some servers with level restrictions, so no players over rank 15 or something.
I found that. But I then decided to give the Engineer class a shot, unlocked a few more weapons, and when you get the repair tool, you can progress a lot quicker, there's always a tank that needs repairing etc. Also, use the tracer dart gun when you get it, you get points for that, and points for when the vehicle explodes, even if you don't damage it yourself. Same theory applies with Assault and Medic. Just stick with a class, get used to it to level up. Sniper I found the hardest becuase there's no real support items to help you gain XP...
Twice I had a guy sneak up and slit my throat while I was trying to snipe someone! I was still able to pick off a few people with my trusty sniper rifle though
Go as medic. My first EVER game of BC2 I got 3000 points. To level up the recon class use the shotgun and get up close - the starter sniper rifle is pants. Oh and you get 20 points for motion mine assists, so keep chucking them about everywhere the enemy is. I agree about being unable to hit anyone with any of the weapons though. I get like 1000 points per game, but a K/D of 0.4 or something (maybe 6 or 8 kills total). It does get easier to hit people as you rank up though and get the better weapons and specialisations. I'm only about rank 10 or 11 at the moment, though.
The key with being a support Recon played is to not treat the role as a pure sniper, spawn on your team but fall back a little and help them out. Throw the tracker balls, use the scope on the rifle to do a load of spotting for the team (try and not shoot everything you see but rather spot them and move on), exploit the mortar as much as you can, throw C4 on areas you know are well travelled then fall back and wait for an enemy team to move through. Take a shotgun if you really want to run with a team and level the Recon at the sametime. Being a Recon does not have you mean your a lone wolf sitting on a bush on a hill half a mile away from everyone else having sniper battles.
very well said. and playing MW2 helps, quick-scoping is a transferable skill motion sensor is the single most useful gadget, i rarely play other class since i don't want to go into area without the sensor. i also play engineer for anti-tanks and getting those huge anti-tank mine scores (around 280 for destroying vehicle + double kill) sorry
I decided against installing PunkBuster at the start as I didn't really know what it was, and notice that a lot of servers are PunkBuster enabled. Think I am going to have to do a reinstall of the game and this time install it!
For me it's GOL > M24 > SV98 > M95. I don't like the M95 very much, but it's useful at taking down helis. You don't have to reinstall the whole game, just download and install Punkbuster from here. PB is pretty much a requirement for all online games which use it, because servers not using it will be filled with hackers.
tracer dart? for me, it's GOL > everything. although since the patch, all sniper rifle does the same damage, so might as well go for SV98 if you don't mind the scope. if you play, go on CustomPC server, most of the time it's empty really a shame that it's either empty or completely full that can't join.
