Everything is somewhat down to opinion but I just feel the last two battlefield games change in pace is not particularly good for the franchise, feels a bit too COD like to me. That said it is fun and is VERY pretty. All true also but BF3 was the happy medium, think I went back and put more hours on it after BF4 than before it was out.
Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place to ask but here goes, I have an intel I7 2600k overclocked to 3.400 Ghz the rest of the system is 16Gb of ram and a GTX 780 graphics card. will this play BF1 or do I need an upgraded processor? I have looked online but cannot find a definitive answer, I don't want to waste my money if i can't. Thanks!
Isn't 3.4GHz that processor's stock speed? BF1 is quite a demanding game and works CPU's hard. That said, I don't see why your i7 won't run it, especially if you over clock it.
Will run, the extra threads will help in 64 player maps. Just for ref though my 4690K @4.5Ghz is a solid 100% usage in certain large maps Why not take the CPU to 4ghz or so?
Hi, thanks both for the prompt replies. Yadda, you are quite correct 3.4Ghz is the stock speed! I will try an OC to 4Ghz and see how I go. Thanks again.
Just for information, I have OC to 4.5 Ghz and bought the game. Seems to be running well with the latest Nvidia drivers!
To be honest I do not think there has been that much interest from the Bit Tech community compared to other games. I must admit though that I have re purchased this game after getting a refund and I am really enjoying the Operation and death match side of things.
Hi Guys, I'm on the Battlefield with this iteration at the mo. My i5 2500K @4.3 is struggling on Conquest maps so thinking of upping to a 2nd gen i7 (3770k?) to improve things. HAppy with rest of system , don't really want the ball ache of a new MB. What do we think?
From what I have heard BF is one of the few games that actually does benefit for more cores and HT - so might be worth a shot - that said - I don't have the stats to back this up. Also, I just picked this up! WOOOP.
I believe the minimum recommended CPU is an i5 6600k I am running the i5 3450 and depending on what map I am playing it sometimes struggles but not a great deal.
Most I5's if overclocked will be fine until larger 64 player maps are required to take advantage of the proper hyper-threading in i7 chips.
I should add that although CPU usage in the (64 player) online beta map with my I5 was hovering around the 90%+ mark, it was still comfortably spitting out 60fps (my limit with vsync on).
Yes, exactly that. It's nice to see a game push CPU's a bit for a change. No point having Red Rum in the stable for the occasional canter in the park. I like it when they get a bit sweaty. Edit:...and I just bought it. I played the beta a lot and with Origin's black pudding sale, I couldn't resist. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to shooting horseys though.
I get 60fps pretty much all the time with occasional slow down during big explosions close to me etc. Maybe it's other stuff eating cycles... Sent from my LG-H850 using Tapatalk
