Im looking to replace a couple fans in my case with new quieter fans. I want something that moves plenty of air but still is quiet. I need 120mm sized fans and i will have them plugged into a fan controller. If you know of any fans that fit this bill please post them. Thanks

If you want blue LED, I love these. I have three in my case and they look great. Can't remember what the sound is like as I have them motherboard controlled and as such they're silent but fairly slow.

The chrome blades make them look excellent. Plenty of reviews on that link too...

I know it's a bit general, but Xilence fans are wonderful. You can usually find em all over ebay. Very quiet (as the name would imply) and good displacement. The cables on them are usually annoyingly short, but you can always plier and electrical-tape your way around that :)

If you want the bling go for that LED one; if you want the quietest, avoid hard clear plastic frames that more easily transmit vibration to the case or get rubber mounts.

Another fan to consider is the 1600RPM Scythe Slipstream - higher flow but noisier at the full 12V but with a controller you have a wide range of performance available and it should be silent at around 6V.

they dont have to be the quietest but i just dont want it to sound like a jet taking off like the 120s i have in it right now do.

I would strongly disagree there i have 1 of these in 120mm and its louder than my cosmos s with its stock side intake fan and 3 coolermaster 120mm fans all put together.

i thinks its due to the bearings being crap in them. both of mine rattle like nothing else on earth

ive already ordered the led fans that i posted earlier. Ill probably soft mount them or use rubber grommets between them and the case. Will have to wait and see how much vibration they send through the case. thanks guys.

:( My 90mm was quite nice, but if that's the case, don't risk it, original poster. I'm surprised, they're quite good on paper - must be wear and tear like you say, or maybe you got unlucky :) at any rate, airflow is good. I'll put some in my next build and see if they're noisy, if they are I'll try rubber padding them as suggested above. Never thought of that before, but it's common sense really.

fans are in and installed and let me just say that for 6 dollars these things rock! They dont move as much air as the old ones but at 12v you cant tell that they are even running.
only thing left to do now is to figure out why my ultra psus fan is running so loud, if not for it my pc would be really quiet.
