Not wanting to sound harsh but its out of focus, what I'm more inclined to look at the PCB which is where you've focused on which then does nothing for the shot. If you'd of nailed the focus on that connector dead centure or the capacitors at the top it would of been a top shot .
Yeah, maybe change the focus a tad and maybe your position so we're not seeing your carpet. Also, is that your finger in the top left of shot?
I quite like this shot, it's focussed on the ceiling thanks to the reflection of that chip. Original to say the least.

Stoned, would you mind telling me what sort of setup you're using to shoot those? I'm on my phone on a crap connection at the moment so I can't enlarge them to see them clearly, but I assume you've used a light tent/softboxes for some of those?
Thanks for the tips on the focus. I'm a bit of a beginner. It's not a carpet, it's stone tiles which I put there for effect. And that thing in the corner of the shot ; it's a wire as the system's really quite messy . Nice photos guys!
Artificial lighting was only used on the third shot (the Zotac board). The first two were shot outdoors in the shade on a white sheet of paper. I should have used a reflector but I was... lazy For the second, I had my friend hold a big white sheet of paper to the left (makeshift reflector), covered a desk lamp with some dryer sheets for a ghetto softbox. Lamp was behind me and to the right. The last one was just something I did when I was bored, so not very impressive. Camera for all those shots was a 450D with kit lens.
ill play! my 5870, awaiting water cooling bits: dual ball-bearing koolance fan glamor shot: team blue!
nice ! A socket 370 PIII (or Celeron, maybe) on a Slot 1 board Did you use to have the 370@Slot1 adapter ?
