Scratch Build – Complete Cygnus X1.

I don't know if I've posted here saying how absolutely epic this is since you finished it, but this is absolutely epic.

And it appears that Alienware may have taken a design inspiration away from this...?

Yes the top vents do look similar but I don't think anyone at dell would have seen CX1.
And I hadn't seen it until someone else pointed it out here, in this thread. It looks very
plasticy and cheap, though I bet it costs a bomb!

 

I spent at least an hour and a half reading through this, your craftsmanship and attention to detail is amazing. Voted for you for MOTY, gl!

My vote has been cast for this mod also. It's been a great read and a perfect outcome.

 

My first post here at bit-tech is to quote the hundreds of enthusiastic comments about your project. Reading through your work log was like reading a good book because you put so much love in it (not to mention your ideas and craftsmanship with several materials and the cost of all the stuff, your spare time of a whole year, but most of all the ability to keep your wife at bay while doing "computer-stuff", as wives call anything that has something to do with a PC ). My daughter has been watching Nemo at least five times a day lately and that makes me feel very close to you somehow . My vote is for Cygnus X1. Happy New Year to all!

I think it's gonna be close between you and Neptunes Trident. Both very impressive builds, but I voted for yours as the scratch build work on the core frame is astonishing in detail and workmanship.

I love the details with the shiny aluminium parts embedded in the warm depths of the wood.
