I worry that DNF will just be Duke3D with better graphics and a chance to drive vehicles.

Either way im still keen to see and play. Duke for the win!

 

I can already hear the howls of disappointment from the people who were expecting the most incredible experience in the world, and instead get a game. A good game perhaps, but at the end of the day a game none the less.

 

Right, so it's what you'd expect from a Duke game, basic shooting and blowing things up with added dirty protests - this took thirteen years, at least 3 engine changes and 2 developers to produce?

Bloody hell, are they writing it in BASIC?

 

Huh, the whiteboard and stadium fight again? Maybe that's the only part of the game that's actually ready. They showed the same thing at PAX, and i recall seeing some pre-alpha screenshot of it back when the original developers were still "working" on it.

 

Do I get to perform murder of aliens on a scale that would make me a galactic homicidal maniac with a wanted poster on ever digital billboard across the the galaxy?

Do I get to listen to Duke make corny jokes around women, and see women throw themselves at him - Because we all know women want muscle bound tough guys with a bad sense of humour and a worse morality - And then commit more alien homicide?

Do I get a rocket launcher and a shotgun?

If the answer to all three of those is "Yes" or some excited version of "Yes", then I'll buy it.

I'm actually glad they didn't go down the Doom3 route and try to explain some lengthy dull plot. There's your shotgun, there's your cigar now go kill those ugly pigcops!

I do enjoy the odd epic but sometimes I just want to turn on, tune in and kill stuff!

This will be nothing more and I don't understand others expecting something else. Something else has been done before badly too!

 

Wait to the BBFC and PEGI get their hands on this.

oh goodie, another 2k release, i expect 60º fov console **** with the rest of the game coming out in dlc 2 weeks after release.

I think the hype behind this might kill it. Everyone will likely give it the "This should be better for a game that took 13 years.".

I wasn't expecting any story, come on.....the most you can expect from duke is; aliens have invaded, slaughter them in all ways possible, save some girls, go to a strip club, save the world. Thats it, and I think most Duke fans will be prepared for that! At least Duke has more character than Painkiller. All I am hoping for is some awesome weapons, wit, graphics and ladies

 

Guys... Anyone who has Borderlands (without DLC or with DLC) has this in steam
