    Hello,

Yesterday I've received a Duron-Mobile CPU and after doing some stepping searches on google I've found this thread! I'm normally visiting the Futuremark forums :hip:

My Duron-Mobile 1000 has this stepping:
    DHM1000AVS1B
    AHLCA 0238APCW
    93838930724

The same as on Page2 of this thread I guess :thumb:

My testmotherboard is an MSI K7N2G-L NForce II mobo...yes the one that sucks for overclocking :grr:
For example it doesn't have BIOS options to go any higher then 200Mhz FSB (which the board even supports!) and no multiplier settings lower then 7. However via hardware defaults I've managed to get a 5 multiplier

    I can run it prime stable at 200x5 (=1000Mhz) @ 1.80VCore, or 195x7 (=1365Mhz) @ 1.75VCore...

I bet it could do better on my Abit NF7-S mobo but I'm to lazy to switch anyway :)

edit: That reminds me, I still have to check TicTac's site for some overclocking BIOS'es, I hope he has em as I want to see +200 FSB

You really don't want to see SuperPi benches with the RAM I'm having

It's PC2700 RAM I've ripped out of some HP machine...
CPU-Z identifies it as "Nanya Technology DDR-SDRAM PC2700 256MB" can't be any good...

It does run nicely in sync with the FSB, 195Mhz with jawdropping timings: 3-4-4-9 :jawdrop:
I could run it @ 166Mhz with 2.5-3-3-7 timings...lower latency but it would be out of sync which is no good for AMD's as far as I know...

Perhaps I should swap with my A-Data PC3200 :dremel:
Not that it's any good either, but that's what you get when you're a low-budget student :waah:

Thanks for the fast reply! I'm gonna check the TicTac site for a new BIOS!

edit: No luck, no MSI BIOS at all :grr:

hehe Mines running on a KT333, maxes at 189fsb on 2.5,3,3,5 atm LOL! Gonna stick me OCZ in it sometime and try and hit 195-200 hopefully, als long as the IDE controller lasts that high!

Au contraire, A-data PC3200 is, I believe, all BH-5 or CH-5. BH-5 in the case of Special Edition, CH-5 otherwise. :thumb:

    You are right.
It can be seen on this site...

I know for fact that it's not the special edition, unfortunatly.
On the chips there is no Winbond logo however...only A-DATA's logo, does that change anything? :worried:

CH-5 should be good enough for 200Mhz at pretty tight timings!

The KT333 chipset uh...I had an MSI KT3-Ultra II which died after a long live, unfortunatly :blah: Well better then if it died after a short live :thumb:

It doesn't have PCI/AGP lock...I hope the HDD's won't corrupt on you! Good luck benching!

That's where I got my info from, too :D

Anyway yes, you should be able to run the A-Data at at least 2-3-2 if not 2-2-2 (maybe not if you can't supply enough volts) which would do rather well. and 7x200 is a quite good place to start, that'd give you a respectable superpi time :thumb:

    I'd have to try that...
This stupid MSI board doesn't do higher then 2.7VDimm and 1.80VCore :wallbash:

Perhaps if I could find some voltmods on google...
But before giving my board more juice I require some food myself first :)

7x200 won't work stable, at least not with 1.8VCore ( :grr: ), 195 is stable so far. I'll run prime for ~30 mins then I try 196 and higher.

That's the way, if it's stable at 7x196 right now then 7x200 should be in range with a bit of Priming. And if that's possible on 1.8v, you've got a nice chip there :D

I haven't had a lot of luck yet, it seems to want to reboot after ~15 minutes of priming on 195 and 196Mhz FSB...I just know it needs more juice which I can't give :wallbash:

Perhaps it has something to do with temperatures as well, but I believe they stay below 45c...

Well it should be stable enough to do a Pifast though :p

nb: I've just tested with ram set to it's orginal values and it seems to be more stable...hmm

And then I might have to put it back in either/both of my newly-voltmodded boards :D

Are any of you submitting times to the cpucity comp? I'm top of it at the moment, so a couple of you would knock me off the top. Until I put it back in :D
