Nice, I really should look at doing some Ebay stuff with some of mine. (But but but, they're mine, my shinies...)
To be fair, I only sell things on ebay that I bought specifically with that in mind! My shiny toys don't go anywhere.
I just have so much stuff that has been packed away for years. I have a HUGE "firstborn" Blood Angels army, a useable Space Wolves one, a decent size Mechanicus one, then there is a load of Harlequins, even more older space marines, a shedload of orks, soooo many old old old metal bits, a metal Thunderhawk, a full metal set of Praetorian Imperial Guard, boxes and boxes of bits, loads of books and magazines, etc. All just sitting around. I keep looking at them and think "that's a lot of potential money tied up in there", but then I switch over to "but it's all my stuff, and I likes my stuff"...
Oh damn, yeah, that is a lot of money tied up in them! I know that feeling though, I have more than a few things that are utterly useless to me, but they're mine.
I know what you mean. In a moment of madness i got rid of all my old rulebooks/codexes etc. when i offloaded my old white dwarf issues. I was going to get rid of a lot of minis at the same time, I just couldnt bring myself to actualy do it! Could be worth a bob or two, but would require me to sort and list it... and afteralls said and done... it is mine.
I've said it before, but I really regret getting rid of my Epic scale stuff. Titans (Phantoms, Warhounds, Reavers), codexes, tens of boxed sets (Squats, Eldar host, Imperial Guard, Space Marine 1st Ed), too many lead blister packs to count (Leman Russ, Vindicators etc.). All I remember is selling them via card ad in the window of the paper shop and some adult much older than me coming round and taking advantage of a young kid by haggling me down to a silly price. Too young to know any better. Gutted. I do still have over a hundred White Dwarfs in the garage though - I can look at the pictures, I suppose. And sob into them.
the Metal thunderhawk is likely to be worth more a couple o bob these days and anything OOP is likely to be worth your time to chuck up on the bay Also the forge has not sat idle And in a rather rare occurance, i got some things painted, or at least basecoated
Looking great. Always loved those Preator launchers. I think those and the Minotaur artillery tanks are my favourites.
Back in the day (late 90's early 00's), i had (Still have for that matter) some imperial guard troops that i for the life of me i cant identify/find online. My recollenction is hazy, but i think they were identifed as some sort of elite formation, shock troops, or paratroopers or something; but none of my searches come up with anything... Can anyone help? Potato pic of an unpainted one below...
Oh you beauty. Thank you! Not sure i'm a fan of the "rebrand", the Kasrkin just look like cadian shock troopers, and the Tempestus Scions (whcih according to a wiki are the generic versions of the Kasrkin) lean too much into the space marine look. tbh, the old look is probably too modern military to fit the "brand"...
Howdy! I haven't been on the forums for an age, so thought to have a gander. Great to see the thread still going!
All the things with legs are the same red! God was that a long slog. I recommend never painting fifty troops in the one go. Edge high lighting, slings, some black panels, some black touchups, eyes, and some other details on a couple of them and I can base them. And hopefully they all look cohesive with the Praetor..
My god was this a slog. Fifty one little bipedal things later and I'm starting on the tanks and contemptor properly.
That looks well worth the effort, bud. Now you just need to get one of those magic cupboards they put the Indian in and the troops can high five you (not the one at the front with the power fist though. Or the Terminators with the fingernails. A salute from them will suffice).
Fortunately this lot are on their way to ebay! Once the tanks and contemptor are done they'll be listed, although probably not listed as 'pro painted'
Got two more detolf display cabinets for my various models, not sure if I've got enough necrons, . Also splurged on some stormcast eternals on ebay for something different to paint. Detolf Cabinets by Thomas, on Flickr Necrons by Thomas, on Flickr Stormcast Eternals by Thomas, on Flickr
