I think the 570's higher price is justified though, I bought the EVGA one and it is fantastic. Well worth the little bit extra to get the longer warranty which will help when selling it on.

    £155 to £250 isn't a "little bit extra" LOL, it's more than a 50% jump in price.

As for price justification, no such thing exists: people buy what suits them/their budget, period. Some cards represent better value for money than others, which is what I'm getting at with the 560Ti, especially since it started to drop in price (unlike the 570). Frankly I think the 570 and 580 are obscenely priced, but other people buy them and are happy with them, so no bother to me - horses for courses. :)

I meant that the EVGA 570 has a little bit of a price premium over other 570's.

I can understand 570 owners beeing happy with them. (and I'd like one)
I can't understand nVidia's pricing however, the 560Ti and the 570 are just too close performancewise to justify a 100€ pricedifference.
I'd understand if the 570 were 2Gb versions but nope...

There's a likely priceshift after christmas...but my guess is it will affect both.

    EVGA GTX 570 SOC = £256.28 - Scan link

    MSI GTX 560Ti OC = £186.76 - Scan link

You do get more memory with the 570 and more performance.

Can someone please show me the 560Ti which costs £150? I can't find one.

    why would you compare a non-stock 560ti to a stock 570?:duh:
and where are you seeing this 560ti soc for $155??

    the link is a pny 560, not 560ti, and it's pny lol..did i mention it's a pny 560?

anyway, like i said, i know prices can get weird over there in terms of what you guys pay against what we pay. but it's funny a valid link hasn't been posted yet...i did a quick look at scan, the 560ti hawk is 202, and the 570 twin frozr III is 256, so about a 25% increase in price for 20%+ performance increase...

To make a point LOL - am I not allowed to? :eyebrow:

The dabs link is valid, and the 560Ti costs £165. Find a 570 that is 25% more expensive than that (£206)...

It's £165 @ dabs and £155 with a reduction voucher (read Parge's post), but the £150 figure is besides the point (and pedantic) - even at normal £165 it makes the 570 look stupid at £250.

Hit the nail on the head - the pricing is absurd.

Perfectly fine vendor of rebranded vanilla cards and even do fairly respectable overclocked versions.

Tbh I really don't know what all the fuss is about... the bare facts:

    Cheapest 560Ti is approx £165
    Cheapest 570 is approx £250

And the conclusion: 560Ti is far better value. What's the problem?

The OP asked the question "is the 570 worth it?" With the 560Ti OC1 at that price, no it's not.

I have a gtx 560ti and use a 1920x1080 screen and for the price I payed for the card I am very happy, I think the 570 is also a very respectble card and if you do have the extra cash get the 570, but bang for your buck the gtx560ti is a winner imo

er...parge, i love ya bro, but my question was where is the 560ti for 155, so you might want to :read:

solid cards, but don't oc well from my experience

pulls up a 560...not sure how that is valid...unless you changed the link

still not seeing an apples to apples comparison

but lets go by longweights posts of the evga and msi...a 37% price increase (not 50%) and roughly 17-32% performance increase...hmm...more memory/bit rate, beefier card, more future proof...

    yeah, still liking the 570

    Check the link again

£165 x 1.5 = £247.50, so the price difference is actually 55% even disregarding the possible offer price of £155, in which case it would be 65%.

Where does the price of £155 come from? As Parge already said, :read: :

If you would rather pay 65% more for a card that performs approx 20% faster, go for it.

    That's because it isn't, LOL - it's a PRICE/VALUE comparison.

65% more for 20%...i love you're lowball numbers on performance and highball numbers on price...
like having a "debate" with my wife...ok, so the dabs link has been fixed and low and behold i see a pny gtx 560ti for 155 after 10 off...so, checking that same site, what do i see? a gtx 570 for 230 after 10 off...WOW!!! now, why wouldn't you make that comparison i wonder?

look, you made a wrong assumption and you got called on it...admit you were inaccurate and move on...

you obviously refuse to see that not comparing apples to apples to get a proper price/value comparison is moronic...and i don't care to try to beat it into ur head any longer...so hopefully the op can see that a spending 30-45% more for 15-30%+ (comparing apples to apples) is a pretty good deal...for all the reasons here and what i put in my previous post (bus speed, etc...)...

Firstly, I didn't "assume" anything - I looked quickly and £250 was the cheapest 570 I could find. Finding one for £230 hardly changes things...£155 vs £230 is still nearly a 50% price premium - thanks for helping me make my point. :thumb:

I'm well aware that you want to beat your favouritism for the 570 into my head by accusing me of being moronic, but I don't have time for the playground pal - even with the apples to apples comparison that you very kindly provided us with, everybody here can see plainly that the 560Ti is significantly better value than the 570, which is what I've been saying all along. Whether or not that should influence what a person buys is entirely up to that person, but the fact remains, no matter how much you appear to dislike it. :thumb:

    32% =/= nearly 50%

The 560Ti may represent better value in your eyes but it's not a fact.

lets think of value in terms of competing products in the same range. The 560ti is the best value at around £160 (compared to the 6950 at about £180). The 570 is the best value in its product class (compared to the 6970 at around £270).
