It's been too long since I've cruised this project. I needed my "mod batteries" recharged

@ cheaps, just an fyi: recently recruited a very talented cnc lathe operator to our team.

@Bill - Coming back after a break might lead to improvements, Or a total re-draw.
    @Furball - Glad you liked it.:D

My Gecko drive is in the mail. I must say their customer service is pretty good so far. I'm also thinking a heatsink would be a good addition when I get it back.

I should shut up and post some pictures instead...
-I wasted another chunk of 3/4" plastic testing the cnc that last time. The 2nd channel started terracing badly.
-So I took my rage out on the last set of fins. I had to sand the sides down on these to get them to fit. This is the glue setup with the SR1 radiator holding the parts. Orange packing cellophane insures I don't damage the main case, or glue the grill to the case accidentally.:worried:
-After gluing the fins, I did a test fit with the other radiator.
-Here's a closeup of the intersection. You can see the ugly stagger in the fins I was working around here. I wonder if I should have done the entire 3x120 with perpendicular fins...
-The other day, I had to separate the Gecko540 unit from those monster capacitors so I could ship it to the factory. Since I have a ton of room, I'm going to mount a massive heatsink on the back of the drive when I get it back. The entire back of the 540 is mosfets mounted to the casing, so I can guess what was giving me trouble. (80 degree weather in January?)

There you go. I'm hoping to be up an running again sometime next week.
    Thanks again to my sponsors.

Such a mammoth undertaking... such an entertaining thread. It's like a Colosseum for acrylic. Sacrifices for the gods and entertainment for the people!

 -I'll think about it. I fear I won't get to finish this rig.

I got the motor controller back from Gecko. Their customer service is FANTASTIC! They repaired the unit and shipped it back for free even though it was out of warranty.
Still reeling from having a little good luck, I switched on GG's system thinking I'd pull the files I need to get milling again, and it wouldn't start. It started doing that on-off thing it did when I first changed the northbridge. I borrowed some PSU testers and the power supply failed both of them.
Soooo- I'm still offline, and I gotta send the PSU back to...Corsair or Newegg. God help me if it's egg!:(

    Thanks, KMSP.:D
First: If you haven't heard- GIVE! If you have some WC'ing parts you can donate, Hit up DarthBeavis. We're trying to get a rig together for a charity auction.

    Second:
    -Gecko customer service rocks!
-When I got the drive back, I decided some cooling might help. The entire back of the case is mosfets. I dug around and found an old Pentium heatsink that fit and drilled some holes to clear the screws sticking out of the back.
-I had to re-config the insides a bit. The sink is mounted using scrap plastic. You can guess where I found that.
-The first thing I did was finish up the manifold I nearly destroyed last time. You can see how far off the channel was here. If it works, I'm keeping it. No one will see the channels when I'm done anyway.
-I'm test fitting a new batch of 1/16" O-rings. I have to come up with a pretty freaky shape to get one to fit the southbridge.
-The first thing I learned was The test channel isn't deep enough. The second was that my corner bends are too jiggy. Can you imagine trying to seat this under black plastic?

    Thanks again for reading.:D
