Wow, just saw this log... excellent work!

I'm gonna go find a class I can join! Only half joking...
When I was at the MakersFaire this weekend there was a place called techshop which was recruiting students to learn how to use their machines and get lab time... wish it was closer.

I'm thinking a community college might be closer/cheaper... but might not have all that cool stuff.

Kewdtz, how much liquid can fit in that res?

Actually that is a great idea. If you are just being in machining it is a great idea to take some classes at a community college or an university. For one it is cheaper than buying your stuff and you will probably break some end mills and stuff starting off so not having to pay for it is great! Also it gives you a lot of experience. As long as the school has a vertical mill and some lathes you should be able to make just about anything you want.

idk exactly how much the res will hold but the dimensions are approx. diameter 1.425" x 3.25"

I am finishing the block today and I am going to start on getting the case done. I will have an update tonight or tomorrow :D

    Finished?

So here is what I got done. We ran into a major design flaw when bending that my instructor and I failed to notice :duh:. So summer hit and I had to finish a new case within a week because I had to start a new job which required all of my time. So here are the final pics for this mod:

It didn't turn out as I originally wanted but that is ok. The good news is I am planning a new mod. This one I am going to spend a lot longer on the developing side of things. So far I am debating on either another scratch build or using this case:

Which would you guys rather see?

(Also I will start a post a new thread under modding as soon as I get more 3D work done.)
